Excellent one night stay for our family of five, very comfortable, extremely clean, good WiFi, made to feel ver welcome. Great value, better than many other more expensive motels

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge and it began the moment we arrived. The owners welcomed us warmly and, as we had cycled all day to get to it and did not realise that the store across the street (which is in fact not a store) would be closed, we had no food for the evening. Without a moment's hesitation the owners arranged a nice supper for us, including a salad picked fresh from their garden. We spent an interesting evening chatting with them as well as another couple of local New Zealanders staying at the lodge. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and there is a nice deck to sit out on. The location, right near the beach, is a perfect stop for cyclists on the way from Picton to Kaikoura, and we can highly recommend it!

The dogs were lovely! It was the perfect, peaceful location for exploring the local area, including the Cape Campbell walk. Beautiful views with clear skies for stargazing and a perfect sunrise. The family are all very friendly and happy to share their house with guests.
