Clean and comfortable host Vehia was AMAZING and very attentive. Apartment was well maintained with the most amazing views. Great WiFi and Aircon when needed. Also swam in the pool. Up a steep hill so if you don’t have a car or access to a vehicle you will get a good leg workout.

Perfect appartment!👍, all facilities you need for cooking and to feel really comfortable and relaxing are provided by your host. Amazing!! Very clean. The owners are very friendly, they take care of their guests, perfect communication before/during/after stay. This appartment I highly recommend for a nice stay at Papeete!!

About 90% of excursions were water related activities and if that’s not your passion it’ll take a bit of effort to find nature, culture options. What I didn’t like as a solo traveler is that Viator tours were mainly required a couple/2 person minimim booking. Thankfully booking.com excursions was a life saver. Most restaurants are closed between 2-5 pm so keep that in mind. I’m not a foodie so I didn’t explore the fine dining options. Papeete lacks a robust night life, it’s more a “get away from real life” and relax that caters to water sports types. I realized I’m a “city girl” type so after 3 days of chilling I was restless.

Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French. Very 3rd world, unsafe water, no sidewalks, trash and graffiti abounds, bums begging, dirty drainage canals, and for this you are charged extremely high prices for everything! Bora bora wasn't much better... Moorea was nice. We took a cruise to the Marquesas and Tuamotus which were still unspoiled and gorgeous with genuine natives. The islands are stunning, but just go to Hawaii.

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.

Over-all it was great.

Over-all it was great. We spent 7 days on Tahiti, plus a half-day excursion on Moorea. 5 days on Tahiti would probably be enough. Next time we will visit a couple of others islands for a few days. Good food and shopping in Papeete.

Spending a day or two there would have been enough, there was obvious poverty, with multiple homeless people. Not what I expected at all. I hired a car to visit the sites, but when I was driving around, everything looked closed, or uninviting. As a solo tourist, this wasn't the best place to visit. If I had known better, I would have book a night & visited the different islands.

The people are what make it so good.

The people are what make it so good. Very polite people who appear to be honest and kind. The shopping mall across the road from the Hilton was a wonderful place with a food hall and a good supermarket. We enjoyed a day trip to Moorea and a taxi trip around that island. Also the 5-hour Tahiti group trip and the boat trip. I did not do any snorkelling as I do not swim and I thought perhaps an activity in knee-high water could have been included in the boat trip. The Museum of the Islands was a good activity.

The accommodation was in a great location, a short walk to the city along Papeete waterfront or local bus just 2 minutes away as was the Champion Grocery Store and Bank of Tahiti ATM. The assistance we received in the early morning airport transfer and then at the end of the stay to the cruise ship terminal made our stay very stress free. Really nice apartment with all facilities. Thankyou to the hosts

Great swimming pool, spacious rooms, even with two queensize beds if available, location close to Papeete, airport and the harbour, helpful staff, lovely and large entrance to the hotel and lobby. The location and position of the lobby, like more good spaces in Papeete allows a pleasant sea breeze to go through it. A Carrefour supermarket easily walked to by a bridge crossing the road.

I ve booked about a 100 hotels through Booking.com, i can fairly say that Fare Rae rae ranks in top 10 list. Nicolas and Heirui(such a sweetheart)will do their best to make yourself at home. Definitely my go-to place in Tahiti! Oh and the 2 adorable cats made my stay even more enjoyable.
