This will end up being one of our best experiences in French Polynesia. We were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this place, and in particular the warm hospitality from Gilles and family. We arrived in fairly late, after sunset, so were wondering what we could do for dinner since there was nothing nearby open. Fortunately, Gilles has anticipated this and provided us (free) with many of the basics – pasta, sauce, bread, cheese, eggs, papaya, juice, milk, etc. so that we could easily make our own dinner and breakfast. We were really blown away by the warm hospitality. The unit was amazing – modern, clean, and very comfortable – with AC in the living area and bedroom, great Wifi, TV, and the most comfortable reclining couch you could ever imagine. The kitchen was fully functional and we ended up cooking most of our meals there. We made use of the washing machine to give our clothes a much needed wash. As for getting around, we just used the good multi-speed bicycles provided and made a couple of trips around the island during our stay. There is a decent grocery store just 600m down the road, but to get to any snacks or restos, you need to go 3-4km in either direction. The waterfront area, just 100m down the driveway, is very well laid out and landscaped with a small beach and area for relaxing. Kayaks are available to guests to use out on the protected bay – really magical! One of the days we were there, Gilles invited us to accompany him and his son, Nathan, on a boat ride over to the Jardin de Corail, which we did. It was an amazing experience with Gilles showing us around the motus snorkelling. On the way back we did some fishing on the outer reef and had a really beautiful afternoon. Such great hospitality! As you might imagine, we rate this place extremely highly, and would definitely recommend it to other travelers. Simply amazing!
