A small, family-run Inn which is perfectly located just outside the city walls. Parking is easy. The staff were beyond pleasant & helpful, they made us feel very welcome. The breakfast too was exceptional. Fresh produce, home-made cake, we struggled not to stuff ourselves!

The hotel is situated in an old grand home and certainly a very comfortable and historic place to stay. Our room had a balcony which enabled the extension of our room. Our host Richard was very helpful with tourist plans and all staff friendly and really keen to assist our stay. Great breakfasts and a wonderful garden with a well kept pool which was available for us to use. The location was great being inside the castle walls. Would recommend to others. The lift was a great addition for a hotel this size!!

The house was excellent. Very clean, very confortable. The rooms and toilets are excellent. The kitchen is well equipped and modern. The dining and living room is really nice and with an amazing view. It is very close to Trancoso (which we liked) and also close (by car) to a lot of very cute villages. The host was always very helpful.

Trancos is an ancient walled town set high up on a granite plateau, A wonderful base for hiking on the Aldeas Historicas paths and and having more than its full share of excellent restaurants. Don't expect lively evenings in street cafes, this is a small rural town which is trying to get on the tourist map. It is also a good stopping off point for a number of boulder castle villages in the district.

The walled Tancoso can be walked easily!

The walled Tancoso can be walked easily! The castle and the Jewish quarters are sites of interest. Trancoso has a couple of options for restaurants and bakeries - one should try the Sweet Sardines of Trancoso

the self catering apartment was like a cave or converted...

the self catering apartment was like a cave or converted garage and the shower was so complex that I couldnt use it. When I did manage to turn it on the flimsy tray filled with water like a paddling pool.

My review is for people who book cheap and convenient and do not then complain when it is not 5 star. What a charming hotel. Absolutely gorgeous. Room was very very nice. Good bathroom. Comfortable bed. Wonderful view from the window. Great breakfast. The hosts are very friendly and charming. Trancoso, as a town, exceeded my expectations.

The property was very comfortable and having stayed in many hotels accross the world I would say this could very easily be considered a 4* hotel, clean and modern, I stayed in room 7 but saw doors open to other rooms and I don't think they have all been renovated but the room I stayed in was excellent!
