We stayed in the small stone cottage which was perfect for a short stay as a couple. The views are stunning and the land is so peaceful. Rogerio is very kind and friendly. We travelled with our puppy and it was perfect for him too.

Perfect location, right in front of the municipal garden (with sound of fountain & water), so no noise of cars. Large beautiful rooms with good beds & shower. Kind staff. The check-in is efficient, even without the classic reception. The coffee bar next to it is a wonderful addition for coffee & drinks all day. Close to the bus station, restaurants & shops.

Wonderful luxury accommodation set amongst fruit and olive trees. Very nice room with a terrace with a view of the mountains and a breathtaking sunrise. Exceptionally quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best we have ever had in a B&B. Thank you!

We live in vale de Prazeres!

We live in vale de Prazeres! And chose to stay locally for a treat (having lots of animals at home 2km away, it was both practical and pleasant). Vale de Prazeres is worth a stay and has all the facilities you might need -- bakery, pharmacy, Post office (with external ATM machine), shop, hair-dresser, restaurant and various cafe/bars. It's a good choice as a base for travelling about and getting to know the wider area and there are many walks/hikes you can do around the locale.

Vale de Prazeres is a typical, quite characterful and...

Vale de Prazeres is a typical, quite characterful and pleasant Portuguese village with a good complement of bar/cafes, a restaurant, pharmacy, bakery, mini-market, post office, ATM, hairdresser. In short has everything needed even if you are staying without transport for a few days or longer. It's worth a walk through the winding small streets and around the local minor roads and pathways. There is a train station about a kilometer from the center, which could allow easy access to the regional cities of Fundao (15 min), Covilha (25 min) and Castelo Branco (about 30 min) and various other smaller local villages on the train route, which is useful if you don't have your own car... although the daily trains are not numerous so you need to plan ahead. Visiting (or living in) Vale de Prazeres is bit of a 'step back in time' where you can still buy coffee and cakes, or perhaps a 'mini' (25cl beer) and tosta mista (ham and cheese toasted sandwich), or maybe an iced-tea and empada (little chicken pie) and still have change from 5 euros -- even in 2023 (time of writing)!! (p.s. I've lived here over 10 years so I know whereof I speak :D).
