FAQs about hotels in Doha

Pearl of the Arabian Gulf

The ultra-modern Doha is best known for its busy airport, impressive skyline and stunning waterfront. With plenty of newly built sports facilities, large shopping venues and growing commercial centres, Doha is a true representative of the fast-developing Qatar.

From its old souqs (open-air markets) to new shopping malls, Doha is home to half of Qatar’s population. Pearl Qatar, which is a commercial, residential, leisure and tourist complex, reflects the vibrant expansion and growth of the city. A highlight of Doha is Al-Corniche, a long seaside promenade that curves around Doha Bay offering stunning views of Palm Tree Island and the city's skyscrapers.

Due to the population diversity, a large variety of cuisines are available ranging from Indian to Italian, American and, of course, Middle Eastern. For travellers wanting an alcoholic drink, alcohol is only available in bars attached to international hotels.

Perched on a stand-alone island, The Museum of Islamic Art is a showpiece of the world’s most complete collection of Islamic artefacts, and the first of its kind in the Persian Gulf. For day excursions, Doha Zoo features a variety of animals, including the Oryx, Qatar's national animal. Aladdin's Kingdom is an amusement park located in the West Bay.

Booking.com offers a variety of self-catering apartments, luxurious hotels and resorts, overlooking the picturesque Gulf, and near Doha International Airport.

Beautiful, relaxed, and peaceful country.

Beautiful, relaxed, and peaceful country. This was my second trip to the country, and certainly not the last. I visited newly discovered places such as Al Wakrah Beach and Torba Farm in Al Khor. Getting around the city was easy using Uber. There are restaurants everywhere and within easy reach no matter where you are in the city. I ate Syrian food in Souq Waqif, Indian food from one of the many lined restaurants at Al Wakrah promenade, and some days at the food court in City Centre Mall which had so many delicious options to choose from such as Indian, Mongolian, Arab, Turkish, and Western fast food. It was warming to see a popular franchise (Nando's) from my country at the mall too.

The receptionist should know how to talk to the guest as she made a call asking if we have a marriage certificate. Only this hotel asked for it when we booked as a family. She made another call, and she asked what time we would arrive. I said 130pm, she said 3 pm, we can only check in. What is the sense of the call? We are upset and wanted to cancel at the last minute, but we need the room badly.

We love Doha!!

We love Doha!! This was our 2nd 2 day stop over visit on route to the UK from NZ... still so much to do, this time we spent most of our time swimming and lounging at Katara Beach, easily reached via the metro from Souk Waqif and free golf cart from Katara..Katara Cultural Village is beautiful..would like to spend more time there...still so much to see and do which we didn't get to... Love the Qatari people, so clean, polite, friendly and trustworthy.

Doha is a beautiful city, it had just the right amount of crowd at our time of visit. It has lots of spectacular museums and tourists sites. Malls were fantastic and food was superb, almost everywhere. We enjoyed the atmosphere, iconic places, Souqs, Corniche and Marina and every place we visited. We were sceptical about spending a full week in Doha for first time visitors however at the end of our stay we wanted to stay longer.

At first I was hesitant to booked due to so many bad reviews that I had read but good thing I followed my instinct and I was amazed... I totally had a great experience, the staffs was so accommodating... My room is so posh and comforting... I had booked with so many hotels in Doha and this is by far is one of the freshest and cleanest linen beds sheets I had encountered... The bed was perfect! To have an awesome and well deserved rest, for sure I'll be coming back soon! ☺️🙏

Our visit to Doha was part of my birthday celebrations the hotel housekeepers decorated our bed and left a small cake for which I shared with my husband, this was such a lovely thought. The room was very clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable, I would definitely recommend The Hilton Doha.

Breakfast was OK compared to other hotels like a double tree hilton. Turkey. Or tulip hotel in Egypt cairo. Compared to those hotels not good enough.
