The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options.

I really loved my stay on the island! I stayed for 3 days and it was nice and relaxing. Amazingly enough, I was the only guest the entire time I was there! The owners were wonderful and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and treated me like family. Big shout out to my main man Jean, the manager! He went above and beyond to make sure I had a memorable stay and is a great friend! The food, service and off island experiences were fantastic (Jean is an excellent tour guide and has tons of incredible side trips for you!) The island itself is beautiful and full of life. If you want to have a unique experience in nature, yet enjoy the luxury and comfort of home, then this is the perfect place for you! For me this was the experience of a lifetime! Book yourself a few days at very least, you won’t regret it!

William the manager speaks english and french. He is very reactive and helpful. The food was nice but above the place whre the lodge stands is perfect. On the lake shore with a sublime view on the volcanos for the sunset and the sunrise. A small piece of paradise. Highly recommended!

The staff are AMAZING! So friendly - above and beyond. The room is simple and clean, the beds were comfortable. I felt safe. The location is really central if you like to explore the bustling town. We walked to 2 excellent restaurants within 5 minutes. They accommodated us with an early breakfast when we were trekking and a packed lunch for purchase. Amazing samosas. Makeri Residence saved us. We were booked in an accommodation with no running water and were so happy to move to Makeri. We stayed for 1 week, happily. The rooms are very nice and well designed. Mostly importantly, they have real showers with hot water and good water pressure (they have a special pump). The property is new and beautifully isolated from the town/streets of Musanze. They have lovely staff, a washing machine, good Wi-Fi, and secure parking. They provide breakfast and dinners which were simple but nice. For the price, this place is a dream.
