Wonderful castle and walks around and through the city were most enjoyable. The area is flat so no problems with steep inclines. Interesting history with many photo opportunities. The castle was a great tour—even in the pouring rain. We drove to Oland and swam in the Baltic Sea. It was a nice hike—easy 4-5 miles. Walking around the walled area of Kalmar was nice as well. We had dinner at Ernesto’s which was delicious.Guest review byJennyUnited States - 10.0

Kalmar is a nice city.
Kalmar is a nice city. The old city walls and the castle give it a good feel. It's easy to take a day trip to Öland from here. I wouldn't recommend this during the fall season as it gets quite cold and windy. I must recommend the restaurant E.A.T.. The hotel has many amenities including a fridge, kettle in room, large shower with a door, USB/C connections beside each bed site table, comfortable bed and the location was most central. Free community car parking nearby. Extensive breakfast variety.
