Good hotel. I had a single room which was quite small but I managed OK and it was great value for money. The host was very friendly and helpful with checkin and provided an excellent filling breakfast including items cooked to order if requested. There is a pizza restaurant attached which is handy but I did not need to use this.

The hosts are the nicest friendliest people you'll ever meet! We honestly loved our stay. For our arrival, they left a bottle of wine and chocolates on the table which was so nice after a long day of difficult travel. We were gifted tomatoes from their garden and a delicious freshly baked (by the host) cake in the middle of our stay. When we wanted to drop by a local farm to get some cheese, the host was nice enough to call them to make sure they're open and to expect us. The place itself is lovely and clean. It's clearly been renovated recently and is well taken care of. The decor is pretty and well thought out. The town itself is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and you can see some of them from the patio. The view of the garden is lovely as well. And they also have the most adorable monkeys in their home (right below the rental) that we loved watching on our way in and out. Overall, it's a top notch place and we will absolutely be back if we return to Slovenia, which we definitely hope to do.

The main cable car up the Velika Planina is just a 10 minute...

The main cable car up the Velika Planina is just a 10 minute drive away, and the views from the top on a clear day are breathtaking, and a MUST if visiting the area... well worth ther 26 EUR round trip! Make sure you also visit Ljubljana ... one of the most beautiful small capitals in Europe . It's just 45 mins on the train from Kamnik Graben, and a much better option than driving as car parking in the City is approx. 2.50 EUR an hour. The pizzas at Pri Cesarju in Kamnik are simply the best, and if you want a great burger then '7 Burger' just outside Kamnik is a great option. If you have a car go up to Stari grad nad Kamnikom for a coffee and spectacular views, just a shame that the viewing platform remains closed and inaccessible. The Pekarna Center is a great bakery in the centre of the town, which is opposite the Veronika Cafe which serves the best coffee and cakes! If parking in the centre of Kamnik you get the first 30 mins free. Also remember that NO supermarkets open on a Sunday.

Well worth a visit if one is travelling about Slovenia. It has a nice old style town and within easy car distance are some great walks in the higher mountains. I suspect at busy times of the year and the school holidays in Europe Kamnik will be a busy place and booking early will pay dividends.

We came to Kamnik at the end of a two-week trip in Slovenia. We came mostly to see Velika Planina, which was worth it even if it was a cloudy, windy, and cold day up there. We stayed in Kamnik for two nights, leaving early in the morning to catch a flight on the last day. The Kamnik old town was very cool and fun to walk around for the old architecture. However, when we went (Fri-Sun in late September) almost no shops were open, which was frustrating because I could see cool handicrafts through the windows. The whole town honestly felt a bit deserted. In addition, there are very limited places to eat dinner in town.

The mountains are incredible, so different!

The mountains are incredible, so different! There's a nice historic town centre and all the villages around there are pretty and neat. You can take a cable car up the mountain which is definitely worth doing. It's so easy to get travel to anywhere you want from Kamnik so we were very happy we chose it as our base.

Beautiful and spacious accommodation in a quiet location. It is a fully equipped apartment, new and absolutely clean. View of the countryside, pleasant seating area in the front garden/terrace. The hosts are very helpful and will solve any request immediately. Very friendly approach, with homemade eggs in the fridge and other basic food items in the kitchen. In a secluded location, the apartment is just for you, but at the same time only 10 minutes from Kamnik. I recommend it, one of the best accommodations we've ever had.

Beautifully renovated old inn a short walk from the old town. Wonderful breakfast, with everything made locally and enough variety for several days. The staff are really helpful, with local information and even offered to make a takeaway breakfast when we had an early start. It has its own pub (selling Kamnik's renowned craft beers) but separate from the rooms so not noisy - and with equally helpful staff.

The view was just perfect. The house itself cosy, but the surrounding and the view on the mountains was the essential feature of this house. The house is situated in a remote area 15-20 minute drive from the nearest town Kamnik, so you need to add this time to each of your trips if you want to visit something, but in my opinion the view was way worth it.

Apartment spacious, comfortable, well furnished. Lovely terrace overlooking a small chapel. Very quiet place (except for the church bells at 7am :) Walking distance to picturesque Kamnik. The owner is very communicative, helpful (like her father), and quick to respond to quest emergencies.
