Right in Kobarid center, easy parking in front of the building, spotless clean and very confortable facilities. Yes, the bathroom is outside the room but on the same floor and still a private bathroom with all the privacy we expected. Overall, great value for a stay in Soca Valley area. On my motorcycle travel I was looking for an accommodation and found this Hostel in Kobarid. Anna and Yaro, the owner of the Hostel, are two wonderful, friendly people! It’s noticeable how much work and love they put into this place. All rooms are very clean and in the kitchen you can use coffee, tea and basics for cooking. The absolute highlight of this place is the garden. There’s a cozy corner with chairs and hammocks and a few levels upstairs in the garden you can watch the whole valley of Kobarid. Just beautiful! I recommend this Hostel a 100%! Thank you very much Anna & Yaro :)

Kobarid is a nice little town situated on Soča river between Tolmin and Bovec. There are numerous possibilities of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, paragliding, kayaking or simply taking a dip in stunningly turquoise Soča. Short drive to Nadiža river which is also beautiful. Kozjak waterfall and hanging bridges are obligatory to visit.

Kobarid is a very charming place, ideal for an active vacation. However, there aren’t many cycling routes separate from the main road, which can sometimes feel inconvenient or less safe. Compared to other nearby towns, Kobarid is quite small.

Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000...

Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000 inhabitants, but as a regional center the town serves a cca 5000 heads strong community. Worth to visit the Kobarski Muzej (WWI museum), the town center with the church, restaurants and very very good ice cream. Do not miss to climb up to the church and Italian monument, check out the Napoleonov most (Napoleon's bridge) and the Slap Kozjak (Kozjak waterfall). These are all accessible on foot. You can also take a tour following a marked hiking trail, see the beautiful nature, the mountains, the emerald color of the Soca river, historical monuments line WWI trenches and forts all along the river. Enjoy yourselves!

My visit to Kobarid (Caporetto) was primarily to spend time...

My visit to Kobarid (Caporetto) was primarily to spend time in its superb war museum and the WWI open air museum on the Kolovrat 15 kms to the east. As mid-September is classed as 'out-of-season' getting to the latter proved difficult (no public transport out of season!) but with the kindness of strangers - the people of Kobarid - I was able to make it there. The scenery in this part of Slovenia is spectacularly beautiful, the people of Kobarid warm, helpful and friendly. I hope to go back some day.

Kobarid is great for hiking.

Kobarid is great for hiking. Unfortunately I was there when it was raining for days and didn't dare to do longer hikes. There is a great museum in town, but after having seen that, there's not much to do when the weather is bad. When the weather is nice, there are many great hiking routes from and to here, and buses also help you get back from Tolmin or Bovec. Unfortunately some other non-round hikes end in Magozd or Dreznica and there is no public transportation to get back to Kobarid. I would definitely recommend the town for 1-2 days to pass through, see the Napoleon bridge and Kozjak waterfall, and check the museum!

Kobarid was an excellent base to see sites around the Soca...

Kobarid was an excellent base to see sites around the Soca valley. We particularly enjoyed the pass to Predil with its ruined fortresses, the Boka waterfall, the WW1 museum, the Italian mausoleum, and the trench lines at Kolovrat.

The location of the apartment in Kobarid was great with bakery below and a supermarket across the road as well as lots of cafes and restaurants. The apartment was clean and was very well equipped with everything you could need. It was especially great to have a washing machine and the apartment was very large with lots of storage space. It was great to have a designated parking space too.

Small but very functional and clean accommodation with beautiful garden and outdoor terrace near Kobarid (3 min drive). The kitchen is very well equiped, and owner was very responsive and helpful :-) Slovenia is really beautiful, and Kobarid is a good starting point - Slap Kozjak, Tolmin Gorge, Soča and much more!
