Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by...
Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills. One to Osolnik and one to Planica via Crngrob where there is a stunning church with frescos and impressive alter.Guest review byPAULUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The walk in historical Loka. A very enchanting town. The walk up into the castle with the option of taking a 'hiking' route. Some close hiking routes. A good variety of coffee shops, variety of eateries..from grocery store take out to bistro's to local eateries (Gostina). Friendly and easy to get around. Bus stop very central. Parking availability. The host is super and the apartment is very nice with new equipment in the bathroom and kitchen. Very well managed. Good for a family of four persons. It has a view of mountains and sky. In the evening, you can sit in the balcony and enjoy the evening. We used to eat in the old town and breakfast can be prepared by self using the kitchen.Guest review byImranPoland - 10.0
Wonderful historical city center with a medieval castle and...
Wonderful historical city center with a medieval castle and colorful houses. Good selection of coffee shops (Na Stengah, Homan...) that also have excellent ice cream and snacks (Kaiserschmarn, cakes, sandwiches...). Kasca or Pr'Pepet are good places for lunch or dinner.
