A very good, clean hotel with extremely polite and helpful staff. The room was clean, cozy and big. The breakfast was very good, fresh and well presented. We also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant which exteeded our expectations. The hotel's chef is very very good. The plates that we ordered were delicious and very well presented. The parking just outside the hotel is free. Also the hotel is close to the castle just five minutes walk which means that you don't have to pay for a parking in order to visit the castle.

This is a superb and very comfortable apartment in the very center of tiny, quiet Oravsky Podzamok. We could see Orava Castle from our room and of course it was a short way to walk there or anywhere else in town. You can park your car easily in front of the building. The host is nice and friendly and met us in a second as soon as we called.

What a beautiful place!! The drive leading up to the property through winding beautiful roads is spectacular. The beautiful couple who owns the place met us and through Google translate we quickly had a brief conversation going. They are wonderful. The place itself is very spacious and beautifully maintained. How can I give it anything but a 10/10. Thank you so much for giving us the honor to stay at your place.

Staff very friendly - had to leave before breakfast next day, staff kindly made me a packed lunch. Balcony view (from my room) was excellent. Room was comfortable, spacious enough and clean.

A lovely, modern hotel with lots of old-world charm. The rooms are generously proportioned, the staff was helpful and the breakfast generous (eggs/meats/porridges cooked to order as well as a buffet). The spa area is very nice with great views on the grounds and good facilities. They manage to balance a sense of the old and new very well.

The main attraction is the Orava Castle.

The main attraction is the Orava Castle. Majestic castle carved into the rock that forms the central part of the town is a stunning sight. The neighbourhood is so green and beautiful with some good hiking options. Neighborhood is so peaceful, green and romantic, even though the Dracula castle looms over the city :-P. Food: Beware of the fact that every restaurant closes by 8pm. Its a small town with not many options to dine. The nice restaurant at the town centre serves great Gaulas and Slovakian traditional dishes. They stay open for the longest period. Try to carry some cash in hand as some places insisted on cash payment. Getting around: Buses are there and trains too to nearby locations of natural beauty.

Orava Castle is well maintained and staffed and well worth...

Orava Castle is well maintained and staffed and well worth visiting for a day. The town is also very nice to walk around. Many nice restsurants. One day is enough, unless you want to vacation in a quiet mountain town with few activities.

It's a very well organized and managed, clean place. Sure- it is not five stars but I doubt I could have wished for more. Well located, convenient, with helpful staff. Breakfast (included in my case) was fresh and very tasty. When you are there- ABSOLUTELY try their halushki, they are phenomenal (and they also cry of freshness, which is not always the case). Close to castle and to raft stop- which is also nice

It's a bit far, especially if you want to avoid the toll...

It's a bit far, especially if you want to avoid the toll roads. The castle and its surroundings are beautiful, and anyone who has the opportunity should definitely see it. On the way home, it's worth taking a short detour to Zakopane and enjoying the magnificent view from the peaks of Gubalówka.

Very beautiful environment and nice people.

Very beautiful environment and nice people. We only had a glimpse of Orava Castle. But we also visited other places, which we could easily reach by bus. We ate in a different restaurant, we wanted to try them all.

The castle itself, the museums of Dolný Kubín, skiing in the...

The castle itself, the museums of Dolný Kubín, skiing in the area, visiting Zuberec, the Krušetnica coffee museum. There is really a lot to do, I recommend visiting Orava and Oravský Podzámok is an ideal starting point for trips.
