Great location in that you're right on the beach, it's an extension of the backyard. Take all the sunset photos you want and walk the beach at night without very many people around. But 10mins drive away from the busy city of El Tunco. (Yes, there's cheap bus available.) So you have very few options within walking distance for food. The longer you stay, the more annoying this can be. The surf here is ok...perhaps too rough for most ppl, but at least you don't have to share the waves with anybody else. They have everything available...surfboard, skim board, bike, motorbike, skateboard, yoga lessons, etc. The place itself is the best part. Things are nice and beautiful (very Instagrammey), many hammocks, a pool you can use all day and night, the rooms have AC (loud yesssss), adequate lockers, bathrooms are usually clean and don't smell (although they badly need more bathrooms), big enough kitchen with storage, many tables chairs bean bags lounge seating, lots of areas to socialize or hide from others. Living room with games and TV. It's a cool place! All in all, I had a really nice time and met really nice people both among guests and volunteers. The place was nice, and I'd recommend it to others. This new hostel is only 1-2 months old so I can only imagine it'll even improve in the future when I come back.

Hotel Michanti is a small hotel close to the sea in Santa Teresa. Perfect for tourists who like to away from the nightlife in quiet surroundings but also close to the sea all of the activities. There is a great easy going feel about the place and you can sit around the pool or on the roof top area and relax for as long as you like during the heat of the day. The bar/eating area is next to the pool and there are several restaurants nearby.

So, its the second time I have stayed during January in consecutive years.. Staff are so friendly and helpful, place is clean, location is great right on the beach, amazing sunsets, great food, bitcoin accepted, hopefully back again next year.

Lovely atmosphere for relaxing and watching the surfers. We really appreciated the pool as the beach is not suitable for swimming. However, It’s a great beach for experienced surfers. We were there during a period of high tides so there was limited beach walking, and the beach isn’t really that long to be able to walk very far anyway. The hotel has a restaurant, and we enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. There are also plenty of other restaurants nearby. We did the Spanish lessons at the Say Zonte Spanish School, which is conveniently located right at the hotel. Good service from all the staff! Good Uber service in this area to get to other locations if you don’t want to take the bus.
