Bangkok is an acquired taste.
Bangkok is an acquired taste. Many people arrive to spend a couple of nights before flying off elsewhere, Phuket, Chiang Mai etc. It's appearance is crowded and chaotic around Sukhumvit where I mainly stay. However, the reality is quite different. A few streets back behind the madness is a serenity one doesn't expect. The places you can stay are World class for much less than you'd pay in Europe. It's safe and friendly as most of Thailand. Sukhumvit is only a tiny part of the city. There's the river, Chinatown, the Indian quarter, Arabic areas, Old Town. Bangkok is a fascinating city. It's just a big capital.
It's just a big capital. A bit dirty, chaotic, too many people. You can go to the Grand Palace, enjoy a ride on the river, and perhaps go to a party. I enjoyed very much the ZOO. There are much better places in Thailand.Guest review byJanCzech Republic - 6.0

We stayed 3 days in Bangkok before flying on to Phuket and wish we had stayed longer! So much to see and do and the general vibe was so friendly and upbeat. The street food was exceptional and the temples/palaces/markets were brilliant. Bangkok was originally just a needed stop over but turned out to one of the best stops on the holiday. Amazing city- it has something for everyone, and every day. I would consider moving here. Some fun activities I did- I went to a shooting range, an escape room, and pub crawl.
