Great CP value. Very quiet area, confy. Not so old and rundown than some ppl said, was expecting worst bcz of the reviews, but it exceed my expectations, it was kind of casual quality. Great hot/cold bath room. Great staff. I've liked the style of the room and hotel in general.

Breakfast was excellent. My family loved the variety of the breakfast range. The shower was very good as well as its irrigation - bathroom remained dry even after a long shower. The bathroom was fitted with good quality materials such as Toto. The bed was big and comfortable. My kid loved the big television. The workmanship of the room decor was pretty good in overall.

I thought the hotel was one of the biggest highlights of our trip to Taiwan. The room was incredibly spacious and it felt very cosy and classy at the same time. I'm very particular about hotels not being crowded and I was really happy with how there were barely any people and if there were it wasn't noisy or messy. The staff was really friendly and helpful to us as well! I really enjoyed their social hours at the lobby, its an interesting way to make your guests interact organically. Price was, I think its very reasonable and worth every $

Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if you enjoy travelling around many different places. We stayed 2 nights and were back in Taipei by mid afternoon of checkout day. I recommend having a car/bike because walking around mountainous areas is tiring, especially when it's raining. Food here is excellent.

We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot of time in the hotel and in the hotel spa. However, in one day we in the village we had great street food, took a tram up the mountain, took a vintage train ride, went for a long walk, and we loved our hotel Volando Urai. We didn't get a chance to go to the indigenous museum which looked great. We will visit Wulai again!

There are various day-trip bathing facilities, including one footbath and one riverside hot spring, allowing for a variety of hot spring experiences. Many lodgings offer spacious rooms with attached bathrooms, but many seem a bit pricey for solo travelers. While the old town is bustling on weekends, many restaurants are closed on weekdays. I once passed a restaurant I'd planned to eat at the next day only to find it closed the next day. There's one stylish little bar, run by a bartender who speaks fluent English. There are hiking trails nearby, but they're not particularly well-known, and the signs aren't well-maintained. The park at the top of the ropeway was surprisingly nice (it wasn't well-maintained, but its dystopian feel was quite intriguing). I wish there was a facility where you could learn about and experience the Atayal people's customs and culture. The free museum in the old town is mostly written in Chinese, and the exhibits are limited, making it a bit underwhelming.

We had a room with in-room hot spring tubs. I highly recommend. The location is a little far from the main drag, but we enjoyed the walk immensely. The Onsen downstairs is great. We only gave ourselves an hour and I would have like longer. Also, go to the public hot springs which are in the river just on the other side of town. We fcound this spot by accident and it was a real highlight.

lovely location along the river, great privacy. room comes with a hot spring tub to soak. the room i was in had two, one larger one with a seat and the another one just for a quick soak. the hot spring is the main attraction and had a sitting area with a table and a pair of chairs to enjoy the view and just relax.
