What makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.

I have just stayed for two weeks at this hotel, the property is so clean and the staff are literally the best team. The rooms are clean spacious and very traditional to Zanzibar. I have never felt more at home and more welcome by Ben and his team. The staff team have been like my family and have been so polite and always happy to help you with anything you need. The property has all you need, and the location is a short walk to the beach and to the shops. I want to just say thank you to all of them for this stay and to have got me through some bad news while I was over here. This hotel is a MUST if you go to Kizimkazi 👍

This hotel is simply magnificent and unique – everything I was looking for when coming to Zanzibar. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the restaurant's elevated location created a unique experience. The staff is very pleasant and professional, and the rooms are cleaned daily, which is a lovely touch. We were a five-minute walk from a secluded beach, a truly unspoiled place. I highly recommend it and will definitely return. Congratulations to the owners for what they have created.

We had wonderful days in Salida Beach! The garden is very peaceful and quiet. We were in Kizimkazi for 4 nights and we didn't leave the property because we felt so well and happy there, with the sea right in front of us, and the most gentle staff we met! Sophie is a great cook: we had the most tasty juices, breakfasts and lunch made by her! The best of all was her smile everyday. She was always in a good mood and ready to work. She also cleaned the room everyday and put her love in the decoration with the bath towels! Everyday a beautiful surprise from her magical hands! :) Manka was the one welcoming us and she was also constantly asking if we needed something, very sweet of her! :) We miss them already and we for sure will be back to see them and sleep in the super-comfortable bed, s pacious room, clean, new, with its balcony where we use to spend some time reading or just enjoying the view! :) We totally recommend your stay in Salida Beach, a new project that will for sure be very well known in Zanzibar! Congratulations to the very welcoming owner who shared his passion with us! See you soon!

This was by far the best experience I have ever had in any country, resort and hotel. I am truly sad to be leaving. The manager came and picked us up himself, free airport transfer. Very safe and accommodating. The manager, Mr.Hanny is a very nice man who went above and beyond during our stay here. He made sure we were comfortable the whole time and any concerns we had, he addressed them promptly. The two beautiful hostess at the front were also so nice and accommodating. They helped us book our excursions and exchange our money. The resort was so clean and beautiful. The room was beautifully set up, very clean bathroom and comfortable beds. The restaurant on the beach was amazing. The chef Amr is the kindest man I have ever met and he makes delicious food. He is also very accommodating and goes above and beyond for every meal. I will truly miss him and may Allah bless him. The waiters at the restaurant also very nice people, I love them so much. During our stay we were able to visit Salaam Cave. The hotel was able to set up safe transfer and it was a beautiful experience, I would say go early before it gets busy. They also helped us set up a safe boat tour, we went swimming with dolphins at sunrise, snorkeling with fishes in the ocean, fresh caught seafood lunch at pungume island and safari tour on boat. Every thing was priced very well for a truly breathtaking experience. I have never stayed somewhere that all the staff are genuinely nice and good people. Everyone is so welcoming, I had an amazing stay here. They will treat you like family. Even the locals on the beach are so kind and friendly. I definitely would love to come back here, it’s an amazing place truly paradise. I miss Mandarin resort already.

A very beautiful and quiet place with a nice, white sandy beach. The garden looks amazing, just like the beach. There aren't too many people, so you can enjoy swimming in the ocean without being disturbed. The pools are nice too, and there's also a small but useful outdoor gym. This place definitely is one of our favourites in the whole island.

This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool.
