What an unexpected gem at the end of our holiday. It only has 3 rooms with amazing view and lovely staff. Our 3 year old daughter loved Ali who was so kind to play we her constantly. We stayed here 3 nights which was perfect because it is very secluded. Perfect for chill and some excursions. Food was lovely too. Thanks all!

Please note that my review refers to Butiama Beach Lodge! A slight misunderstanding meant that we had booked Butiama Bustani but were taken to Butiama Beach upon pickup from the airport. Once there (at Butiama Beach) and once we realised we were at the 'wrong' hotel, instead of transferring to Butiama Bustani were we had actually booked, we asked if we could pay the supplement and stay at Butiama Beach, which we did (luckily they had a room available). The Butiama Beach Lodge is a truly wonderful and romantic place for a relaxing holiday. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, the rooms are very comfortable (with a hammock on the veranda that I could have stayed in forever was it not for all the other nice things one wanted to see and do at the lodge), the sunsets over the ocean are gorgeous, and there are several activities that one can easily join thanks to the hotel's own activity manager. As it wasn't the right season for the whale sharks, we joined a boat going out to watch humpback whales. The sea was quite rough, no possibility to keep the camera out for all the water splashing in, but seeing the whales was a great experience!

KK is extremely tranquil and perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of anywhere else. The setting is so peaceful hidden under the high canopy of the tropical forest. The staff are amazing and so helpful with anything on the island. The food is tasty and great value. The area has no other tourists so very quiet. The outdoor showers with Kerosene heating is pretty cool too.

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

This is a very new place focussing on diving excursions with two very well equipped cabins. It is situated in the beautiful marine park area where scuba diving is exceptional. The area is not overrun by tourists and the cabin is a very cosy and restful place. Enjoy one of the evening cocktails, prepared by the friendly staff or relax at the poolside. The small resort arranges shuttle service to and from the airport.

The bungalows are very cozy, super clean and the staff is extremely friendly 👌👍 The owner took us on a day trip with snorkeling and diving and had a lot of tips for us. He joined us for lunch and dinner and had an answer to all of our questions regarding whale sharks, diving, beaches etc. 100% recommendation !
