We had a great stay at AVO Boutique Hotel. All people are extremely friendly and helpful. Great location directly at the beach; quite area, i.e. beach feels like a private beach. Great service, good food at reasonable prices.

The hotel is excellent. Good facilities, well located. We were very well received and we were given access to the room at 9am, when we were supposed to only be able to access the room after 2pm. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very good. It was already my second time in Zanzibar and it was the best, without a doubt. I highly recommend this hotel. I will come back.

Beautiful small Boutique Hotel with outstanding service. I felt extremly welcome and appreciated. The food was lovingly prepared and fresh. Beautiful authentic hotel, with an amazing private beach that looks like it was taken out of a postcard. Thanks to the bay, the low tide was soft, relatively to the east and south sides of Zanzibar. Great restaurant with a beautiful view and varied food. The hotel highlight in our opinion was the staff - always kind and smiling, willing to help with any request.

The location was fabulous, right on the beach with a spectacular view. The central dinning, lounge, bar area was an incredible architectural design, spacious and so tastefully done capturing the local context and culture. We had a bungalow on the beach with was so spacious with 3 separate areas - a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom. The Club was another unique element of the hotel with a wooden bridge/jetty leading you to yet another spectacular thatched dining/bar area.

The property is sprawling with a gorgeous beach and plenty of lush gardens. We booked a junior suite which was really spacious with the most enormous comfortable bed. We had a few issues but they were quickly resolved and we had amazing meals at the a la carte restaurants. I have to mention ‘Wok’ which was faultless and I would go back just to dine there. We also had a romantic beach dinner which was lovely. The water-sports centre is well equipped and we learnt to paddle board, we played lots of pool and we also played tennis every day. The court does need resurfacing but it is fine for a knock about. We would definitely go back there.
