Felt like home. Peaceful...I extended my stay. It was everything I needed and I was taken a lot of care. I will never forget the experience. Tips for new travelers: check the pics, it's a local fishermen's village, don't expect white sand. But Dennis will make sure you see the most beautiful beaches. Also, sometimes there is no electricity in the island, so own your own local SIM before arrival because there may be no wifi.

Emerald Bay Resort - a relaxed casual intimate resort hidden away from view at the southern tip of Pemba Island - an absolute paradise. The rooms are comfortable with a spacious bathroom and excellent hot water shower. There is a good size swimming pool set in beautiful landscaped gardens - a ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon! All dining is on the roof top terrace - dinners are delicious with lots of fresh seafood caught locally. All the usual breakfast foods available plus GREAT pancakes and local doughnuts! All staff absolutely super friendly and helpful. We were met by Luca who hosted us throughout our stay and we were warmly welcomed into the Emerald Bay family. Luca took us out on the boat (dhow) each day to the amazing pristine white sand banks and turquoise warm sea - totally magical and relaxing. Emerald Bay is truly a genuinely special place, out of the tourist hot spots and absolutely in tune with nature and the location. We loved our stay.
