The Garten Living is a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect with the beach and restaurants within walking distance. At the hotel, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the garden, and the nice spacious room with the ensuit bathroom. But most of all, we fell in love with the enthusiastic and motivated staff of the hotel. They all went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Our room was always clean, and everything we needed was taken care of. Zanzibar has its challenges with electricity, but the hotel staff works with great perseverance around this. Visiting Zanzibar made us realize how privileged a lot of us are in the world, and it humbled us in every sense as a traveler. Zanzibar will always have a special place in our hearts, and this is especially because of staying at The Garten Living.

The location is perfect. It is on the beach and is also part of the village. There are also a number of other resorts close by, which increases the range of options for food and drink. The food at Zula is excellent - great variety, fresh, well prepared. The stand-out is the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the service is excellent. Haji, Mary and Elizabeth took great care of us.

This place is stunning! I don't know where to start from. I have the feeling I will miss something important to share. The garden - beautiful, with pool and so many spots for relaxation, sunbeds, a hammock, palms, exotic plants, trees, flowers. Simply amazing! The location - 100 steps from the beach, a walking distance from many shops, restaurants, bars, markets. The room - spacious, stylish, cool, clean. We loved it! The bed - I read some comments regarding the mattress and its hardness. I need to tell you that I typically have problem with mattresses because I am suffering of back pains. Well, for me this mattress was healing! I need to have exactly this one at home! The Breakfast - Oh, the breakfast! I have no words to describe how delicious it was! Prepared instantly, especially for you, with the highest quality healthy products. Just amazing! Whatever you choose from the options, you won't regret it. We tried everything. Avocado toast is the best in the world. And the banana bread! And the cashew yogurt with a selection of delicious fruits! It was always accompanied by freshly prepared coffee and mango and passion fruit smoothy. Charlie, Donnie, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We have already tried two of the recipes you gave us and they worked out pretty well for us. The staff - This is the most valuable asset of this place. Messi is amazing! Always available, responsive, gives wonderful advice on everything - tours, taxis, best exchange rate and exchange office, good wine shop, everything. Charlie and Donnie - we miss you guys and the wonderful meals you prepared for us. We miss the special dinners with the most delicious salads, fish, curries, vegetables. We miss your smiles, kind and welcoming mood and attitude. We hope to see you again next year. We are delighted with the Garden and highly recommend it.

The staff is very kind and welcoming. They took time to get to know us, helped with information and recommendations and even prepared a cake and candles for my birthday. All of our requests were met with kindness and they did their best to accomodate us. The pool is great and the beach is very private and calm. Rooms were cleaned regularly, we had AC in our room and mosquito net, which were definitely neccessary. Bathrooms are simple, but functional and clean. Wifi and hot water available at all times.

The beach is beautiful and the water very warm.

The beach is beautiful and the water very warm. Because of the strong tides there's only water in the morning and the afternoon but it makes the beach very interesting and beautiful and gives the oportunity to walk far out and find seashells and starfish. The only downside to the beach is the many very insisting sellers who make it impossible to go for a walk without being approached.

Paje, beautiful place and beach, plenty of restaurants both on the beach and on the road. The only downside is that the beach is in the shade by 16:30 and very high and low tides makes taking a dip complicated !

It was a great stay for me and my family.

It was a great stay for me and my family. The best part of this hotel is the entire staff. Extremely friendly and courteous.Always smiling and greeting at every opportunity.A special thanks goes to Fadhila who made us and especially my daughter feel very special and welcome.The Manager was also very friendly and polite.Overall I would rate my stay as exceptional.

A wide variety of restaurants, good food. Lovey eatery's on the beach overlooking the ocean. Easy to walk around to the market and the local shops. Ideal holiday for those who love the ocean and water sport's, the local friendliness is an added bonus.

Paje has long white sandy beaches with beautiful turquois water .. a wind surfers paradise. Great for long lazy days just to soak up the sun and enjoy good food. It is very easy to get around Paje, we spent most of our time eating at Bento, quality food at affordable price.

We loved our 8 day stay at DarMar hostel. The staff is amazing, especially Bojana, the manager, she is a true gem! The vibe in the hostel is perfect, the staff does everything to make your stay very enjoyable. The pool and hangout area are great to chill during the hot days. Also the restaurant serves delicious food. We would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a social, relaxed stay in Paje, Zanzibar. We will definitely return here when we return to the island :)

We had an amazing stay at Ananda. The hotel is right by the beach and the rooms are small houses with own porch. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and are being cleaned every day. The hotel’s restaurant Capitano serves delicious food and the coffee is simply the best we’ve had in Zanzibar. The hotel staff is super welcoming, kind and helpful.

Zula Zanzibar came to our rescue when we had a terrible experience at a different hotel. The rooms were very clean they made an effort with our honeymoon the food was delicious and the staff service exceptional! It felt like family when we left there . We felt like we were VIP and that all our needs were met .
