My stay at Karibu Beach Resort was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean – it felt like a true retreat. The highlight, however, was the breathtaking view of the beach. Every morning, I woke up to the sound of the waves and the sight of the golden, sun-kissed sand stretching out before me. The beach itself was stunning, with soft, white sand that made it the perfect place to relax or take a leisurely stroll. The resort's food was a delightful experience. Every meal was a treat, especially the breakfast, which was a feast of fresh, flavorful dishes to start the day right. But the most memorable meal had to be the romantic dinner on the beach. Dining with the sound of the waves in the background, the stars above, and delicious food right at our table – it truly was an experience I’ll never forget. If you're looking for a peaceful and romantic getaway, Karibu Beach Resort is the place to be. With its perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and amazing service, it’s a true slice of paradise. Highly recommend!

Absolutely unbelievable! They did everything possible for us. It was the best holiday from our life and we are a simple couple that visited before almost 30 countries. The chefs are cooking diverse and they made us to love things that we tried before and we didn’t like. The place is integrated so well in the nature, you don’t need to visit Jordani forest because resort has everything that is there. Location super good, also you can count each time on their recommendations. They knew to create super romantic dinner for us and for my birthday they exceeded any expectations. 11 stars experience. We just hope we were good tourists for them because they were making a simple holiday to be the honeymoon that everyone desire. PS Super safety resort.

Beautiful authentic hotel, with an amazing private beach that looks like it was taken out of a postcard. Thanks to the bay, the low tide was soft, relatively to the east and south sides of Zanzibar. Great restaurant with a beautiful view and varied food. The hotel highlight in our opinion was the staff - always kind and smiling, willing to help with any request.

This place has a great no shoes policy and although there is a new fancy pants hotel not far away pongwe Bay resort is the real deal....authentic rooms and gorgeous thatched bungalows with all the mod cons which let you know you are in exotic zanzibar (not like the 'swish but you could be anywhere new places). Gardens are beautiful and all the staff are simply delightful

Staying here for a week really reminded me of the early 2000s travel vibes - travellers meeting around a beach bar, long lazy days playing Bao and chatting, rustic gentle bungalows, amazing personable staff helping you in every way possible, then lazing on nearby beaches or at the pool. I got lucky and picked the perfect place. Staff need a special mention - brothers Yasser and Yusuf make a great duo keeping everyone happy and helping with trip bookings, waitresses Jennifer and Ema and barmen Robert and Musa are always ready to serve you with a smile. I can't wait until I can come back! One week wasn't long enough... Oh I almost forgot the bush babies - they are tame and you can feed them every night if you want ❤️

Everything about this establishment is truly remarkable, from the owner, management, and security personnel to the talented chef. The culinary offerings are exceptional; I particularly enjoyed their traditional breakfast, Maharagwe and chapati, which was prepared to perfection. Pongwe Beach Hotel is a perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach and grounds are beautiful and well maintained . We love that it peaceful and quiet with no loud music or jet skis. We enjoyed the program put on by the hotel staff that included the guests.

It was amazing!!

It was amazing!! Beautiful place and unbelievable accommodation. Food great . The service from the staff was the best ever !!! Both of us fell in love with all of the people working there . Cannot recommend Pongwe Island enough ❤️

You need to take into consideration the feelings of your...

You need to take into consideration the feelings of your visitors....we do not like being targeted by people pestering us to buy from them every time we go to the beach. It really is a negative factor of visiting your wonderful island paradise....it spoiled it for us. Also this happened to us on other beaches in Zanzibar so not just a Pongwe problem....its endemic to Zanzibar.

Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far...

Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far away and, even at high tide, it is very shallow - you cannot swim. Kiwengwa beach, next door (10 minutes by car) is much better, more lively, with many shops and good hotels.

The hotel is beautiful and still fairly new, the location is great for relaxing but not for swimming The enormous pool more than make up for it. The bar in the pool was also a nice touch. The Saturday dinner on the beach was the highlight of our trip, with live entertainment and good food under the stars. Thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable. I can’t single them out since they were all consistent. Will definitely go back.

Great premium boutique hotel in the middle of a beautiful bay. The staff is really great and knows the guests, considering this is a relatively small hotel. Food is very good, very healthy breakfast, and dinner options are varied and prices are reasonable. There is indeed a tide, so you cannot swim all day long in the sea, but if you time properly, you will have a mix of sea and pool swims. My wife had a few massages and what very happy with the service.

The hotel has a beautiful tropical garden, and a very nice and quiet beach near to it. The room was basic but comfortable, with nice view to the garden. The staff is really nice. I appreciate that I could stay longer in the room on my last day, as my flight was late in the evening, that helped a lot. It’s not a luxury hotel, but still a beautiful place to stay and relax. The area is quiet, so only come here, if you want to relax only.
