What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Everything. The place is beautifully authentic traditional and in convenient location. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The staff are amazing starting with David who accommodated my request and was welcoming when we met at the hotel. Jackson the manager made sure everything was good everyday, Sawda made sure we are well looked after, Marian met us with great smile and said goodbye with just as great smile and made sure our check in and checkout was smooth, and finally Fi who cooked great food and was kind. Thank you ShokiShoki and we are for sure coming back.

This hotel was just as we expected. After staying 10 nights on the east coast of Zanzibar we decided to stay one night in Stone Town before going back home. The hotel itself was very special with nice old furniture and decorations all over. The staff was very professional and helped us in everything we needed. The check-out was already at 10.00 AM and our plane was departing 23.35 that evening so we had a long day to wait. Fortunately the hotel provide us a luggage room for free and then we could also use one of the rooms in the afternoon to get a quick shower before travelling. Brilliant. The hotel has two swimming pools which were ok, of course the water is very warm so not much refreshing. The food and service at the restaurant was very good. We ate there two times and nothing to complain. The breakfast was also very good - wide selection of fresh fruit, bread, small snacks and also an omelette made to order. So basically nothing to complain about. we would go again.
