I recently stayed at the Rushaga Gorilla Tracking Lodge in Uganda, just a short walk from Bwindi National Park. The luxury cottage was spacious with a panoramic valley view, ideal for relaxation. The service was exceptional, thanks to the personal touch from the manager, Elizabeth, and her team. The food was a tasty mix of local and Western dishes, including vegetarian options. The lodge’s peaceful atmosphere perfectly complemented the wild surroundings, offering comfort amidst nature. It’s great value for money compared to other nearby lodges. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Bwindi, whether solo, with a group, or with family.

Beautiful suites with private verandas with gorgeous outlook on to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest! The staff were amazing and very accommodating. They took care of our every need to insure our comfort including washing our muddy hiking boots!

We had a wonderful stay at Mianzi Guest House, the rooms were simple but spacious and clean, the common area was very nice to sit in, the breakfast and dinner were fantastic. But what really stood out was the staff, Emma and his team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay, they provided everything we needed, even joined us on our tours. We planned to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 5, i think thats telling enough how good it was :) Oh and the view of the Volcanoes in the morning is absolutely incredible!

The service of the staff was amazing, they were ready for everything we could need, even cleaning our shoes after the gorilla trekking! The food was also outstanding. The start of the trekking is also only 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walk.

We had a really nice stay here for one night following our gorilla trekking. It's about an hour from Rushaga, so you could reach it after your day of trekking or the day after if you're in less of a hurry. The gardens here are incredible. The owner said his grandmother has been working on them for 50 years and it shows. Sitting outside looking at the garden or walking around them is a treat. The space itself is quite cute and comfortable. Having a little kitchen almost seems like a rarity in Uganda and this place has almost everything you could need for preparing small meals. There is also a service where one of the staff will go pick up some groceries from the market for you (at a small cost). The staff were all very friendly, particularly Alfred who we chatted with in the morning over breakfast. There was also a cute little dog who was nice to pet, but do note that if you are afraid of dogs. Lastly, the breakfast was extremely good. Eggs to order, homemade bread, fruit, good coffee, honey, homemade jam, tea, cheese and a homemade little lemon cake. It was really quite good and we were surprised by the quality. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

We can highly recommend the Neckview Lodge - the location including the view is a dream, it is very cosily furnished, totally clean, spacious, the staff is super nice, helpful and attentive and we were also delighted with the food. We felt completely at home & would have loved to stay longer in this great place ... definitely one of the best accommodations on our trip! We were really well looked after, taken on several nature and community walks through the area and accompanied on our gorilla trekking (to make sure everything went well). Thanks to the whole team and especially to Nelly & Ella - we would love to come back one day.

Such a lovely guest house very clean the bed was very comfortable and the views from outside your room are outstanding. Cylia the owner is an incredible lady so kind and very helpful and was always on hand to assist you. She was able to get me a gorilla permit and a chimpanzee permit which I was most grateful for.

Bwindi My Home in Kachulagenyi has a garden and a bar. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The homestay features family rooms.

Great place to relax after the gorilla tracking and enjoy the view from the terrace! Richard is the perfect host: he helped us organize the gorilla tracking close to the lodge, he took us on a culture walk to meet the local tribe and he made fire every night to sit by :) Highly recommended!

A wonderful stay! It's a very nice place to stay with everything you need. Simple, no luxury, but that's exactly what makes it perfect for the jungle setting. Since the twin rooms are small, our daughter got her own room free of charge. We received a very warm welcome, and all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Great views, comfortable beds, hot showers, delicious food, and a packed lunch! There were only very brief power outages, and a generator was available for these situations. Our concern that we might not have enough power to charge our devices was unfounded. Dan arranged the permits for the gorilla trekking for us, and everything went perfectly. When we got a flat tire, Dan even organized the repair while we were out trekking. The gate where the gorilla trekking starts is only a 5-minute walk away. The host accompanied us there and picked us up again, making sure everything was working smoothly. We debated for a long time whether we should afford the gorilla trekking despite the high cost, and we're so glad we did. It was an outstanding experience. We traveled as self-drivers, and when we couldn't find the road to Bohoma at the end, our host even sent a driver to show us the way. The road to Bohoma isn't the best, but it's easily manageable even in the rainy season with a Toyota Land Cruiser. In summary, everything was perfect, and we would book there again in a heartbeat. The value for money was excellent. If we had had more time, we would have loved to stay another night.
