I loved the area, husband and I are trying to figure out when we can return, so many other things we wanted to see. The fact that we are from Ohio and my daughter attended Wright State University was a great connection since the Wright brothers took first flight in KDH area. I think it is a great town , so many great restaurants and small businesses are located in that area as well as opportunities for lodging Wright Brothers Memorial for visiting. Nice beaches Had dinner at Barefoot Bernies. Recommend highly Country Deli love their sandwiches. Trip was cut short because of the impending hurricane but we still got to enjoy beach time. The beach has soft sand and not a lot of shells. Waves were high so not much ocean swimming but still enjoyed sitting by the sea. Our favorite restaurants are Kill Devil Hill's Grill and Stack Um' High Pancake House. Kill Devil Hills is the best town to stay in while visiting the OBX, and the location of this condo couldn't be beat. Next to the Wright Memorial, the Teaching Gardens, the beach, and all of the great restaurants and shops (even ice cream shops), as well as close to Manteo and Wanchese.
