Santa Fe is beautiful and there was so much to see and do.

Santa Fe is beautiful and there was so much to see and do. I enjoyed strolling the Plaza and Railway district, attended an author reading at Travel Bug bookstore, went to the Lensic Performing Arts Center for a Booker T Jones concert, visited the International Folk Art Museum and the Botanical Gardens. As a foodie and a vegan I loved the restaurant choices. Favorites were "Paper Dosa" for South Indian, Jambo Cafe-Afro Caribbean and Kakawa Chocolate House for excellent chocolate elixirs. Outside of Santa Fe i enjoyed visiting Chimayo which was a very moving experience I highly recommend. Six days was not enough!

Lovely town, lots of $$ shopping! Pretty plaza.

Lovely town, lots of $$ shopping! Pretty plaza. Beautiful weather. The best thing we did, though, was the living history museum just south of Santa Fe- El Rancho de los Galindrinas! And definitely drive north of SF to to Santa Fe National Forest.

Santa Fe is a beautiful town!

Santa Fe is a beautiful town! Sooooooo much culture to be seen and learned!!! Many of the venders we encounter were willing to share their knowledge and experience, even if you didn’t purchase from them. There was so much to see, learn and experience! We will, by God’s grace, return to Santa Fe next year to continue exploring the wonders of Santa Fe’s dynamic culture!!!

Walking the square and visiting galleries on Canyon Road is a must. Wonderful day hikes with beautiful views are close by in the city and surrounding areas. Enchiladas with either red, green or Christmas at the Shed is a highlight. Many quaint lodges, villas, hotels to choose from.

Downtown Santa Fe is charming and walkable with tons of culture. It’s not nearly as big as I expected from a state capital! Very manageable for a short trip. Most shops lean touristy (so many jewelry stores) but in the plaza you can find local artisans selling. The food scene is excellent. Don’t miss Senior Murphy’s for Piñon chocolates or Tia Sophia’s for red or green enchiladas and sopapillas with honey!

Santa Fe is truly an international destination.

Santa Fe is truly an international destination. We live within an hour's drive of it in Rio Rancho, but it brings the world to us -- fine dining; the Santa Fe opera in the summer; chamber music festival in the fall; a variety of art galleries, museums, School of Advanced Research (SAR) lectures and field trips -- the list is only limited by the time one has to visit!
