We arrived late due to a dreadful bus trip, having not eaten since breakfast. Exhausted from the day's ordeal, we inquired about a snack, but to our surprise, they prepared a full meal for us. The hospitality and kindness of the people were truly exceptional. It turned out to be an unforgettable stay!

We loved our stay at Ha Giang Faithien Homestay and hope to return. It's a quiet, scenic property nestled up in the hills a little bit away from the main town, but with easy access to town by motorbike, taxi, or bicycle, which you can rent at the homestay. The owner, Anh, is extremely warm, generous, and accommodating, as is the rest of his family. The double rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the bungalow (where we stayed for one of two nights) has a private bathroom with a hot shower and a porch with lovely views of the river and surrounding mountains. The operation is more or less self-sufficient. Anh and his family built all of the structures themselves, and the meals are made from food raised on the property. Dinners, cooked by Anh's nephew Ling, are delicious and can be made vegetarian upon request. They also come with homebrewed rice wine. Anh went out of his way to make us comfortable, not only helping us arrange a one-day ride on the Ha Giang Loop and giving us a super late check out, but also patiently answering all of our many questions about the region, the Tay people, Vietnamese society, and more. It was truly enjoyable to stay here, and I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone.
