The host was very kind and suggested us the best spots with views over the rice fields that we could visit. The lodge is sitting on top of a small hill overlooking the surrounding rice fields. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. You can also opt to eat dinner at the place, which we found very delicious. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to experience the real Vietnamese countryside life style.

Great accommodation in nature with a wonderful view of Mu Cang Chai. The owner is a person in the right place and could speak English well. From arrival to departure, he helped and advised us with everything. He planned a full day scooter tour for us around the most beautiful places in Mu Cang Chai and rode with us as a guide. Every day he and his wife prepared a luxurious breakfast and dinner for us. He handled everything and finally arranged a bus for us to the next destination, including communication with the drivers and the other hotel. The accommodation was clean with plenty of hot water. We definitely recommend and would love to come back!

This is an exceptional and truly charming hotel. For context, we are well travelled and have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. There is something very special about Garrya Mu Cang Chai. Firstly, the hotel design is beautiful and reflects the local area. Stunning communal spaces with high bamboo ceilings, green marble tiles used in the pool, sun loungers the same colour as the soil etc. The staff are wonderful. Extremely helpful, proud to be working at the hotel and genuinely want you to have the best stay. Special mention to Luis in the bar and the F&B manager, but really, all the drivers, wait staff and reception have genuine smiles on their faces! They are also proud to employ local staff (H’Mong) that they are training up and again just really want to make your stay as good as possible. We were lucky enough to stay in a 2 bedroom villa with pool and it was beautiful. We also saw the rooms and if you are a couple, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Grand Deluxe room, (not much more expensive and IMO the deluxe room is too small for a hotel of this calibre)! If you have a sense of adventure, the hotel can organise a motorbike trip to the horseshoe paddy and bamboo forest. Mu Cang Chai is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth exploring. This was one of our favourite parts of the trip. Spa is excellent, as were the activities organised by the hotel. Gently, but enough for 2-3 nights.
