The highlight of our stay, however, was undoubtedly the game drives. Our guide, Freddie, was exceptional—his deep knowledge of the wildlife and the ecosystem made every drive an enriching adventure. He effortlessly spotted all the big fives and shared fascinating insights, making the experience both thrilling and educational. Not our first time in the Karongwe reserve, but our first time at Chisomo. Fully tarred road from Hoedspruit to Karongwe and then only 15-20 minutes from the gate to the camp. This is an excellent tented camp, with lots of thought going into their tents. We even had electric blankets on the bed and hot water bottles on game drive (May). The tent was so comfortable, housekeeping is excellent. We could charge equipment in our rooms, wifi was excellent and streaming easy. Very impressive! The food was all buffet style but of great quality. No complaints. Staff were friendly and service was great. Game drives have never dissapointed here and this trip was no different. With the skills of Polly and Eddie over 4 drives we had 3 leopard sightings, lion on kill sighting, cheetah on kill, rhino and the very special cheetah on foot. We were so impressed, we booked again for next weekend.

Beautiful location overlooking the valley, with lots of animals wandering around. Exceptional staff - very helpful and attentive. The property was kept impeccably clean. The food was incredible and plentiful. The drinks were very well priced. Loved the game drives - saw the big 5 in the first couple of drives! Very special evening celebrating my mums birthday with a cake prepared. Glen was especially helpful with all needs. Overall fantastic stay and could not recommend highly enough!

We had the most amazing stay at Karongwe River Lodge. The Luxury Suite was absolutely perfect: Super clean, amazing bathroom, comfortable bed. The highlights of our stay were the game drives in the morning and evening where we saw all the BIG 5 as well as many many more animals. Mandlah and Sondy were the perfect guides on our tours. The staff was super friendy and the food delicious! We will definitely recommend the Lodge to our friends and families.

One of the best places we visited during our three-week honeymoon, thanks to the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, the breathtaking views, and the sense of peace the place offers. What makes it even more special is knowing that your money supports a project with purpose, focusing on environmental sustainability, education and local community. One unforgettable moment was waking up at 4 a.m. to the sound of heavy footsteps, only to discover two giraffes right in front of our tent. Encounters like this are rare given the size of the property, but it shows the beauty of the surroundings. Even on your way to the lodge, you might spot some wildlife, almost like having your own private game drive. We also did a sunset drive with a guide, which was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend spending at least two or three nights here, with a full day dedicated just to relaxing in the lodge.

Very personal and family run bush camp. Jenni and Kristian are great hosts. We enjoyed the time over new year at this wonderful location. The tents are spacious and very clean. There is a large pool with sunbeds available and also a nice place to sit around the fire. The very good Breakfast and delicious Dinner is served together with the owners which is perfect for interesting conversations and sharing experiences. The Game Drives with Kristian were informative and varied with nice animal sightings. Simply a beautiful bush camp - highly recommended.
