The Pabala Nature Reserve is easy to find, as it is directly at the R330, not far away from Hankey. We had a mountain view suite in walking distance to the restaurant. The suites offer you a lot of privacy and the view is stunning. The equipment is modern and cosy with a nice fire place for cooler days. The place was very clean and you can park in front of the house. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, the food was very good, especially the french toast (breakfast) was delicious! The prices at the restaurant are reasonable and we could watch the animals (like peacocks) from there. We did a game drive on our own and saw Giraffes, golden-brownish Wildebeests (!), Impalas and Nyalas. We liked the feeling, that the owner and the whole staff really take care of the animals and they have an eye on beekeeping as well. If you are looking for tranquility to relax and enjoy the bush feeling, this is a wonderful place to go to. A special thanks to Ettienne, who did a great job to meet all our needs.
