Location 10 minutes to Hoedspruit town. Unless giraffes are standing in the road, which could mean a short delay. Gated “soft game” wildlife estate. Soft game means that there are no lions, elephant or other dangerous animals. However giraffes, warthogs, porcupine, sable and other antelope, etc. roam the reserve. We had duiker and porcupine out our sliding door, warthog and sable at breakfast. Great place to relax a few days getting over jet-lag before going into Kruger (like we have done many times) or before visiting a posh big five reserve - because why spend a fortune when you are too jet lagged to appreciate it.

The lodge was even better than my expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms were comfortable and luxurious, and the food was excellent. There was also a viewing deck, which was an added bonus. A lovely lodge with lots to offer.

I was in MILIMA with my boyfriend , Keelan. We love everything about MILIMA. The food, the staff, the game drives with Sidney.. We saw the big five! A great location for some rest and relaxation.

A great location for some rest and relaxation. I went on a Big 5 safari game drive, and got to see the animals up close. I also had a heavenly spa experience at Karuna, and visited the nearby reptile park to see some rare snake species. Lots of restaurants around to try out a variety of meals, I went to the Club House and had tasty ribs. Then the breakfast at Aragula is to die for.

Great central point for exploring the Kruger Park, private...

Great central point for exploring the Kruger Park, private game reserves, Blyde River Canyon and many other spots in the region. Many lodges to choose from, tours, charters, restaurants, shopping centers in the town. Agricultural hotspot, with many mango and citrus farms, plus macadamia and avocado farms nearby.

Impressive little town with lots to do in town and in...

Impressive little town with lots to do in town and in surrounding areas. The town had great little shops and amazing restaurants with lovely ambiance and views. It felt clean and the roads recently tarred. The grass of the game reserves' boundaries next to the main roads were all cut which looked well kept and neat. It was just disappointing that it was not possible to do self drives or walks inside any of the surrounding game reserves unless you were staying in the reserve. The Kruger was your only option. My favourite restaurants were the Blue Mountain restaurant, The Argula Experience at Zandspruit and Aerotel. Great trips in the surrounding area were Blyde river canyon boat excursion, Mango Mohlatsi and Maholoholo rehabilitation centre. Had a great trip to the Kruger Park entering at the Orpen gate and taking the Timbavati road to Olifants camp and the river dirt road to Letaba and exiting via the Phalaborwa gate. Saw lots of game following the dirt roads next to the rivers.

I did not stay at Hoedspruit - just used the airport for...

I did not stay at Hoedspruit - just used the airport for transfer to camps. The airport is very small and hot - no fans or air conditioning - but efficient and the staff is friendly. No problems. Very small shop. No cafeteria or restaurant.

A heaven for animal lovers as you get to see them in all...

A heaven for animal lovers as you get to see them in all forms. Excellent town with all the amenities you need for a vacation or to escape the pressures of the city. There are also several interesting stops one can make along the way, such as the Museum of Men or Echo Caves, when driving from the Mpumalanga side.

It is a lovely laid back town with plenty of wildlife...

It is a lovely laid back town with plenty of wildlife experiences Our experience at HESC was memorable with our awesome guide Heike The town has local coffee shops curios and is close to Kruger park and wonderful panoramic drives. Shops like Pick n Pay and Spar are also here for those who have self-catering accommodation

The place is secure, welcoming, our option was self catering and we had access to anything we needed for self catering stay, the quietness of the area, being surrounded by beautifu nature, fireplace, pool area, the kids also liked their room, perfect wi fi conection, very clean, nice shower and bathtub, we really enjoyed, very nice place for a family to enjoy stay in Hoedspruit.

What’s there not to like about something new! From its name that pays tribute to its natural surroundings, the art pieces that celebrate African heritage, to the modern look that blends with nature, Khiwane is a thoughtfully put together boutique hotel. Breakfast was delicious, the team at Harvest are true to their fresh food commitment. A Hoedspruit must see!

Unfortunately, the untidiness completely messed up my stay, and I just couldn’t see past it. Cleanliness should never be an issue in a hotel, and I hope management takes steps to address these concerns for future guests.
