The manor house is absolutely beautiful, and it was obvious that no costs were spared in the design of the interior. Rooms are very spacious and well-appointed with most rooms featuring luxurious ensuite bathrooms. There are many different seating areas throughout the house that can be closed off to spend time in privacy. The indoor BBQ (braai) area is spacious and has a huge floor to ceiling glass sliding door that opens up to the large lawn with swimming pool. It was great to spend the early morning on the covered, wind-sheltered veranda (stoep), looking over the adjacent vineyards. The kind domestic staff were very discreet and unobtrusive and made the beds and cleaned the kitchen without us even knowing they were there. Very close to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and the range of tourist facilities in the area. I would highly recommend a stay at Mount Vernon Manor and predict that once this "newcomer" is discovered it would become increasingly difficult to find availability at such an exceptional property.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitre's Edge Vinyard Studio. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to meet our special requests. It's a very beautiful apartment with a lovely garden on the farm where you can sit peacefully. Definitely good value for money. I will recommend it to anyone.

Everything was brilliant. We were a group of six, spent four nights there and we were all more than happy. The facilities were beautiful, clean and there were many diverse things to do and enjoy. The beautiful manicured gardens, farm & facilities with a stunning backdrop. The endless amount of things do to, from cellar tours, to bread baking, to farm cycles, kayaking, eating the local produce in the restaurants and cafes, spa treatments and admiring the wildlife. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, nothing was ever too much and made you feel at home, everyone knew your name and made you feel truly welcome and part of the farm which was such a special experience. We would love so much to return some day.
