We stayed three nights in Elephant Walk tented camp and for us it was a real discovery. The lodge is situated just 200 meters from the Crocodile bridge and 300 meters from the Krüger Park Crocodile bridge gate. The lodge is situated at the Crocodile River with the Krüger Park at the other side of the river. So it is a beautiful location and for the game drives in Krüger it is just a very short drive. It used to be an existing lodge with a small capacity. But recently they build a brand-new beautiful building with restaurant, terrasses with river view and luxury living space. We had the privilege of being the very first guests in the new configuration. The 12 tents are beautiful decorated with comfortable beds, nice bathroom, air-condition etc. The kitchen is very good, and the staff does everything to make your stay enjoyable. Due to the very short distance to the Kruger gate you are quickly in the park and the game drives were very nice with Simon as an experienced ranger In our view the prices are moderate for what is offered. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay in Elephant Walk tented Camp and we will be back.

We had a very relaxing stay at the cottage. Very peaceful and great to hear the stream right outside. I enjoyed watching the hornbills in the trees in the morning. We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant where we picked up the keys.

We loved our stay at Elephant Walk Retreat. Room was clean, Location is amazing - right next to the Crocodile Gate of Kruger Park, Manager Mr Lodricks was very helpful - he was approachable and went above and beyond to help. We also saw some animals from the Lodge itself.

Very bad experience !!.

Very bad experience !!. I hate bad surprise and this was we received. The road was very dangerous and we need to ask many times the assistance of the host to collect us from the other side of the RIVER which most of the cars could not enter. Once enters it is our own risk. Other guests that supposed to cross over advised us not to proceed as the River is connected to Hippo and Crocodile river. There might be a crocs all over the place as we could not even see the narrow bridge to cross over. All we see was a huge water covering the narrow bridge and the pity thing was that there will be no alternative road but to travel back of more than 2 hours with muddy/rugged road in the forest. Pot holes to cross over is very deep. We also stuck on the road for almost a whole day due to the road are packed of those people going back to Mozambique. We booked for 2 nights (3 days) but we decided to leave the place early in the morning as we really wasted our time from coming there with bad expectations of non-moving traffic. We are very tired and we expect to rest once we arrive to the lodge however, a very scarry experienced to cross over those angry overflowing water under the bridge is our nightmare. Not advisable for DECEMBER holiday and/or rainy days. I requested the host to refund the night that we don't use due to bad expectations, and he said I must request Booking.com. Booking.com making me difficult to contact and the platform of complaint page not even working. The " SUBMIT" button always sending message " please sent again".

Komatipoort itself is not a destination I would rush to...

Komatipoort itself is not a destination I would rush to return to. Its proximity to Crocodile Bridge is great and was the reason we went there. The town feels like a typical border town with lots of trucks queuing for border crossing and we understand it is not safe to be near the border post after dark. We ate at our guest house and drove into Kruger Park for the day and otherwise stayed out of the town.

Crossing the border at RSA side is sickening and wonder why no one does anything about it. I am sure the guest lodges are losing business as no body wants to cross the MOZ/RSA border. I think all the guest lodge owners and the shop owners should take it up with the authorities.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was the essence of tranquility. Prolific bird life. I enjoyed the visit from the hippo's and hubby enjoyed the tiger fishing albeit he lost one to a croc. Do take mosquito spray with as they are very small but have a mean bite. The staff are all super friendly and always willing to help. The little restuarant was great with simple food prepared excellently.

A good place to stay and better than Crocodile Bridge if you...

A good place to stay and better than Crocodile Bridge if you want to be close to Kruger but have a choice of eating places and much better value places to stay than SanParks. We recommend the Kommatipoort Golf Club for a drink or a meal on their wonderful balcony with beautiful views over the river. The Stoep Cafe on Rissik St also has good food with a lovely garden area.

This was the most fantastic stay ever!!!

This was the most fantastic stay ever!!! Everything was just great. From the property to the service, we received. We could have stayed another month. So tranquil and the garden with the waterfall are just what we needed after a very difficult year. The stay really revived us, and we went back home, refreshed and recharged.

Stunning lodge on the banks of the river, overlooking the park. The rooms are even nicer than the pictures…. Great view, spacious and beautifully decorated. Dinners, shared with the other guests, were delicious. The breakfast packs provided for those wanting to make an early start were equally as good. The hosts were extremely welcoming and we learnt so much from them. Their knowledge on insects was especially fascinating . We look forward to returning in the near future.

We stayed there for two nights (would've stayed more, but we were passing through), the staff is friendly and the views are amazing. Everything is tidy and staff is always there when help is needed. We enjoyed the sunset over the river on the terrace with a bottle of wine, and a delicious breakfast has the same beautiful views. We will be going back to Croc River Lodge in the future, our must stay now in Komatipoort.
