The Guest house is in a rural location and is a typical charming Karoo farmhouse. The property is well-maintained, and I can recommend the property - partially because it is remote with no television, and weak mobile signal. If you want to get away from it all, this is it. They do have internet for the basics like email, but you won’t want to work remotely from here as they have a limit on what their connection can handle. This is not a criticism, as the reality in rural South Africa is that broadband is not very available, capped, and ridiculously expensive. The owners, Eugene and Debi are fabulous hosts and really accommodating. The evening we tried their standard fare burgers, and I tried the Jalapeño burger and my wife the bacon avo burger and both were generous and tasty burgers. We can strongly recommend it as an overnight and if you intend to really get away from technology while having a great experience dished up with loads of hospitality, this is the place to go

We were just looking for shelter from the rain for two nights and lucked out with Magoos on 62. Michelle was welcoming, and so accommodating. The rooms were lovely and spacious. The shared kitchen was clean and well stocked with cooking equipment. It was just the most comfortable stay. Thankyou Michelle

We loved this home away from home. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed climbing the mountain and feeding the farm animals and milking the goats. The delightful atmosphere of the farm has made our winter holiday great. Thank you very much!

The guest house is beautiful with a large atrium that doubles as an art gallery. Theres a large bar with pool table and plenty of seating. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathrooms are perfect. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves.

A perfect stopover en route to Cape Town via route 62. The cottage is a quaint historic building with thick walls and was sparkling clean. We had everything we needed for our stay and especially enjoyed the stoep looking onto the garden with a great view of the mountains. Perfect waterwise garden with olive trees and a good enclosed space for our two little dogs to stretch their legs. Our host Jeanette was most helpful too. We can definitely recommend this lovely cottage!

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale,...

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.

The mountains provide a scenic backdrop to this Klein Karoo town and the opportunity of recreation for the adventurous visitor. If you go during the summer, there's also plenty of delicious fresh produce available. The town also boasts some beautiful Victorian architecture, which is best appreciated on foot.

We didn't really stay in the village but I wish we had...

We didn't really stay in the village but I wish we had booked longer to stay at the lodge. I would definitely like to go back when temperatures are a bit cooler so I can do the hikes they offer during the day. The landscape there is amazing!

It was perfect for what I needed. I needed a safe, comfortable place to sleep, refresh and prepare for the next day. It was all satisfied 100%. I was not looking for a child-friendly, pet-friendly holiday resort. I wanted peace and quiet. I got it. Thanks to Michelle for hosting me. I used the place a s a base to stay while attending a biker rally in Ladismith. I will definitely use this place for future stay-overs and will recommend it for friends and associates (and bikers). It has everything you will need.

Beautiful haven near Ladismith. Interesting foliage around stunning, well appointed, luxurious flats and a little original farmhouse. All with little pools. A lovely central area to enjoy a very nice dinner. Christianette was exceptionally helpful with a medical issue in our party, which could’ve been a disaster for our holiday, but she really saved the day with excellent advice & organisation

The breakfast was excekllent and everything you needed to carry you through the day.Beds were lovely ,swimming pool sparkling and location was fine.The owner Illona and her staff were more than friendly as if you knew her for years .The roads in Ladismith are in a very poor condition which is very unusual and unacceptable for Western Cape.

Of course we're nature lovers! So we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem hidden in the mountains in Ladismith. The tranquility was just what we needed. Saar, the owner was amazing, she made us feel at home right away! The views as we drove to the country house were spectacular!

Exactly what I expected and then some. Silent, yet a quietly working farm. Excellent onsite staff who bend over backwards to accommodate you, even an offer of "do you need anything in Ladismith, we going there now".... Being greeted at the road and escorted to the farm.
