Complete break from city life in the best possible way. I can't comment on the restaurants as we chose to braai - I have no words to describe the night sky. The stars were breathtaking. Time seems to have stopped in Nieu Bethesda. It is refreshing and humbling to see how simply people live and yet how full their lives are - there is colour and mystery and warmth and friendliness everywhere you go. Nieu Bethesda makes a great destination.
Nieu Bethesda makes a great destination. This quaint Karoo towns main attraction is Helen Martin's Owl House. Besides the town's scenery and ambience there are a number of other attractions. The trip was an overnight stop.
The trip was an overnight stop. But i would love to spend a few days in the town. The people are amazing. I ate at Die Waenhuis. A beautiful restaurant. An unexpected gem. The food was 5 STAR. You have to be mindful of the wild horses that wander on the berg pass. It is an amazing experience . The art gallery wow.
