Pretty rustic house with a pool in the courtyard, 10-15 minutes walk from the public ferry to the Elephantine island and the Nubian museum. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming and immediately responded to all our questions. Makani and King of Jamaica restaurants are the best

The location is incredible directly on the edge of the desert, with the desert sand under your bedroom window. It's on the West Bank of the Nile, so quiet. They take you with the boat (~15 min) to the city side or Elefantine island whenever you want. It really is a small farm with animals and all (camel, goats, crocodiles). And Mahmoud the owner is a very nice, smart and helpful person.
