It had everything we need for our family of 4. Masako, the host, was incredibly friendly and picked us up at the port and also dropped us back too. She even made us onigiri for our trip out of Naoshima! Best host ever :)

The room is filled with artworks and thoughtful details arranged by the host. It has a modern Japanese style — the combination of light and shadow, pumpkins, and tatami mats was such a pleasant surprise. The mattress was very comfortable and easy to sleep on. There’s also a great big refrigerator, and the kitchen utensils are stylish and beautiful. The overall stay was amazing — my friends and I truly enjoyed our time here. I’m very grateful for such a wonderful accommodation experience on Naoshima.

The family was incredibly helpful coming for me to the island, helping me with my itinerary the next day and even bringing me some lunch box when they realize I travelled to an isolated area. The house had a beautiful garden and I slept in a big room with a closet and a bathroom just for me. The breakfast had plenty of local food and I couldn’t even finished it!! and they even provide snacks and a cold bottle of water at night.

We had an incredible time at Naoshima, the house was amazing and had everything we could have asked for. Beside the cool design and plenty of space for our family, the comfort was perfect, and our host Marc was always on top of evertyhing to make sure we were well taken care of. We felt just like at home! A traditional japanese home but with all the comforts a western family may need. Would surely repeat!

J-house was perfect for our 1 night stay at Naoshima Island. There was heaps of room, it was very easy to find and the bed was super comfortable. It felt so nice to have a whole house as the accomodation and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was super easy to reach and greeted us when we checked in. Was also walking distance to all the Art House Projects!
