Yutaka and Giovanni are excellent hosts. The food is amazing (Giovanni is a chef) and well worth the price. The wines they serve a exquisite In the morning we visited the goats who were very cute. We were the first guests of the season and the first ones to be able to try their new bath house. It's build in a traditional Japanese style with a cast iron tub. Amazing experience. We'd recommend anyone to stay here during their Kumano Kodo trek.

The staff were lovely and very helpful before and during our stay. The house is spacious and scrupulously clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the bath is worth the wait to fill with hot spring water. We enjoyed the free snacks and instant noodles for a no fuss dinner. The Kawayu Onsen bus stop is a few meters away, making transport easy. Soaking in the river hot springs is a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

All is cleaned and organized, we can easily spend few days with family and/or friends. Even have an outside balcony, garden side, both levels. Rooms are on the garden side, not on street side, so it is quite to sleep well.

We stayed one night in connection with hiking the Kumano-Kodo trail. The house was both large and cozy and equipped with everything we needed. Shino is such a kind and helpful host. We also requested breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The location is about a 40 minute walk from the Komono Kodo but it was worth it to stay in such nice accommodation. The house was well appointed and had a great lookout over the hills and river. The owner's attention to detail was excellent in terms of toys and games for children, pillow scents and information on the area. The kitchen was also well equipped. There is only one bedroom with 4 beds and it is also possible to sleep in the living room. The supermarket is a 6 minute walk away and there is a cafe serving food close by.

Great new accommodation directly on Kumano Kodo trail. Simple wooden design fusion of traditional house with modern living. Tasty dinner in bento box, complimentary drinks in the fridge, simple but ok breakfast. The rooms share common living room, nice place to meet with other trekers or can be great for larger family. I was also happy to find washing and drying machine. In the near future there will be six Sen Retreat accommodations available (two or three are already open), so you will be able to make the whole Kumano Kodo Nakahechi trail from Takijiri-Oji until Nachi with one hosting company.
