We had a wonderful vacation at Aluthgama House. A beautiful villa that leaves nothing to be desired: spacious and clean rooms, a great, very clean pool, a gorgeous tropical garden right on the Bentota River, very tasteful lounges, great service from the staff, including excellent breakfast and great food for dinner. Yusuf is an excellent host who took the time to personally greet us and fulfill all our needs during our stay. He also took the time to answer all our questions before our trip, which we really appreciated! Thank you very much!

Kia Ora, I had the pleasure of staying at Sithuka Villa in Bentota, Sri Lanka, during my recent trip from New Zealand, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made my stay unforgettable. The villa itself is absolutely stunning, offering a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Sri Lankan charm. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail in every corner of the villa really shows the care and love the hosts have put into creating such a serene haven. One of the highlights of this villa is its proximity to the beach. The beach is literally just a stone's throw away – a short walk down a lush, tropical path. The beach is pristine and peaceful, with clear waters and soft, golden sand. It felt like having a private slice of paradise, and I spent hours enjoying the sun, swimming in the warm Indian Ocean, and simply relaxing by the shore. The fact that the beach is so close made it incredibly easy to pop out and enjoy the beauty of the coast whenever I wanted. However, what truly made my stay special was the hospitality. The host and their family were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my stay comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed, offering insightful recommendations for local attractions, arranging transport, and even preparing delicious traditional meals that felt like home-cooked delights. They treated me not just as a guest, but like part of their family, which made all the difference in my experience. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind or a base to explore the beauty of Bentota, Sithuka Villa is the perfect choice. I will definitely be returning in the future. Wow… what an extraordinary place! We stumbled across The Cinnamon Cottage while looking for accommodation in Bentota on Booking.com. We’d just flown in and wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and recover from jet lag — and we couldn’t have found a better place or experience. From the very start, Sanjaya’s hospitality was exceptional. He kindly picked us up from the airport and even provided cold water for the drive. During the journey, he shared fascinating insights about Sri Lanka — his passion for his country is infectious and lovely to see. Having worked as a travel agent, his local knowledge is truly impressive. Our room was beautiful. We stayed on the top floor, overlooking the garden and water — the view was spectacular: lush, green, and surrounded by nature. The room felt spacious with its high ceilings and large sliding doors. The bed was very comfortable, and the semi–open-air bathroom was stunning. Showering while looking up at palm trees swaying against the blue sky was such a memorable experience — as was taking an outdoor shower during a tropical rainstorm! We also went kayaking (free of charge) from the bottom of the garden. It was magical at sunset, and we were guided along a scenic, peaceful route through the greenery. Breakfast, which we chose to have a few times, was served in the room and varied daily — tea or coffee, a fresh fruit platter, and a savoury plate of eggs, bread, or rice. It was delicious and great value. We also enjoyed a homemade rice and curry dinner one evening — simple, authentic, and very tasty. Sanjaya lives on the property with his lovely family, who are all so warm and welcoming. His son is adorable — and their dog, Donut, is the sweetest! Sanjaya also helped us organise local excursions at great prices, which made exploring the area so easy and enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend The Cinnamon Cottage more highly — such a fulfilling, peaceful, and heartwarming stay.

Super well maintained with a perfectly sized pool. The host, Ruansh and House keeper Sirl took extra good care of us during the stay. The rooms were spacious and perfectly sized when boutique ambience. Washroom was also large with very good fittings and a great shower.
