Eranga and staff provide exceptional service. They made our stay very comfortable. He arranged our safaris into Yala NP with a great driver. The food was great - always checking with us to make sure he was providing meals to our taste.

We were warmly welcomed from the very start by the incredible team. They did everything they could to give us a memorable stay, from the delicious food (best we had in Sri Lanka and very generous portions), the impeccable service, informative safari and excellent facilities and special touches (star gazing from the impressive viewing platform). Communication was excellent and we really felt so well looked after and had such a special time at Makini Bush Camp. We were so sad to leave and would definitely come back and would recommend to anymore!

Staying here felt like luxury for us, everything seems to be brand new and with a clean and modern furniture. Room was huge, and we didn't expect to have a bath with nice hot water. The place is very peaceful surrounded by the forest, and just 15 minutes from kataragama temple complex, which is a must see during sunset time.. I really would have spent a week just here!

A wonderful place in the middle of nature. Access by car is difficult, but totally worth it. It was nice that a bigger Safari car was organized to meet us on the way. The manager (Gamini) is very accommodating and super friendly. We stayed Deluxe Bungalow - An incredibly specious villa. The whole area is very quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature. The property even has its own observation tower where you can enjoy the sunset in the evening and the sunrise in the morning. The food was delicious and wonderful. The BBQ bonfire dinner was very special and memorable. A perfect place to stay if you want to go on a Yala Safari. Safari offered by the hotel is a bit expensive, so consider different options if possible. All in all.. A nice place to stay in Sri Lanka for sure. The house is located in a beautiful garden. Close to the lake and the restaurant. The owners are very nice, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us at 04:30 on safari. The cottage is spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower is fine, and the water is warm (but only on sunny days) breakfast very good although it could be more varied

The villa was really clean! The staff is amazing!! If you need anything, they are there to help (they live at a house next to the villa). The food, they cooked for us was very tasty and a lot (too much to finish it all)! For breakfast you can either take a Western or a Sri lankan breakfast. If you want to go on a safari, they will organize a trip for you! The pool and the outside area is lovely! There are lots of fruit trees around (mango, banana, coconut) and you will get a taste of the fruits if you like. One of our group had a problem with his phone, so Ranjeed took him to the next phone store and tried solve the problem. Thank you so much! We can definitely recommend staying here!

The treehouse is a gem. Having built treehouses for my children and when I was a kid, this is my absolute dream come true. It is beyond anything I had imagined. Perched over the river it is solidly constructed with artistry and imagination. Saman, the host, has put so much love into the garden and treehouses, creating a tranquil and magical energy. He’s also an incredibly kind and welcoming host. You must come - it is truly special if you live nature.

Excellent, family-run resort with just 4 bungalows in a beautiful garden with a superb swimming pool & solarium area. The bungalow is lovely & spacious with a large bedroom, a huge bathroom and a lovely patio overlooking the pool for you to relax on. The bed was big and super comfy. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. The AC was effective and the WiFi worked well for us. The breakfasts were very tasty and we ate there twice in the evening, both times enjoying some excellent home cooked food. We really loved the quiet out of town location, but a tuk tuk into Tissa' takes less that 10 minutes. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and always with a smile on their faces, especially Niranji and Kumarra. They were also able to arrange a safari to Yala at a reasonable price - we had a great driver and the whole 6 seat jeep to ourselves. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we would certainly recommend staying here.
