Peaceful location surrounded by the host’s beautiful garden, serenaded by bellbirds as we relaxed in the private spa. Very nice continental breakfast. Attention to detail, even providing charger cables for iOS and android phones. Easy drive or pleasant walk down to the river market (would be a fittening walk back up the hill!). The hosts were friendly and generous with their help and advice. Loved this place. Excellent value.

My stay at 49 Balgownie Estate was truly impressive. The facilities were spotless, spacious, and very well set up. A highlight was the board games, which made for such a fun time pass. It was excellent value for money, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting beautiful Whanganui. My family especially loved the peaceful location and the gorgeous flowers surrounding the house. Sue was an outstanding host, providing thoughtful guidance and taking care of every little detail we needed for our stay. Fantastic work team—keep up the amazing service! Highly recommended.

The accommodations were fantastic! Location was convenient and the views of the surrounding countryside from the expansive deck were lovely. The pool and hot tub were an unexpected bonus, as were the welcome goodies that were provided.

Very neat and tidy property in near new condition. Well stocked and as neat as a pin. Comfy beds, and the Air Con was very handy on a very warm weekend. For us, one question we ask is, "would we stay again?" and the answer from the family was Yes!
