Superb in every way. Our best self catering accommodation in Portugal for years. From the greeting on arrival with a glass of wine, to sitting on the terrace with a wine of dinner watching boats on the Douro it was perfection. We will be back at the earliest opportunity. Great restaurants nearby if you feel the need to leave. Try the train from the nearby station to Pinhao or further, a magical ride.

We stayed for one night, in the house with 2 bedrooms. Very clean and comfortable, with a small kitchen and a fridge. The houses are located near a lake and the rest zone is fully equipt, where you can chill, listen to nature and make a barbecue. Great communication with the staff, very helpful.

The property was immaculately presented and maintained. On a working orchard where fruit was readily available to pick and consume also sit and relax amongst, the entire stay is rated one of the very best we have ever experienced. The original Portuguese village made it feel like we were transported back in time, beautifully renovated with luxury products, finishes and furniture left us not wanting for anything more. The hotel was full however never once felt crowded - amazing selection at breakfast with a wonderful view over the property and valley below. Our family of four adults were very comfortable spending time together, with plenty of individual activities and areas to explore roaming always in awe of the natural beauty of the village and grounds. There wasn’t anything the staff wouldn’t do to assist in maximising our experience. Cooking facilities in the villas along with community kitchen and cooking for outdoor alfresco options were immaculately keeled and readily available for use. The pool zone was tranquil with flowing mountain spring water keeping it cool for the summer days. (High temperatures in the region of 39-40 degree heat plenty of shade to protect from the sun) Conveniently location near the Douro River and vineyards. The kind gift of arrival of in-house Blueberry Jam and teas was amazing also the signature bottle of white wine was a lovely and welcomed treat which was chilled and enjoyed after a long day of exploring the region on the warm summer night in our private courtyard. We could not fault our four night stay and can not wait to return on our next trip to visit family in the region.

Great host, beautiful views, very nice house a few minutes from the city center, the house has a very spacious kitchen, there's plenty of plates, silverware, pans and pots and the host even left a baskets with snacks for us, there's a nice seating area with a Smart TV and the bathroom has a big shower with good water pressure, the beds are comfortable too. The house was very peaceful day and night and also has a private parking which was nice to have.

Every part of our stay was brilliant. The staff couldn't do more for us and very friendly. We had booked a room with a private pool and it was fantastic, a completely relaxing little haven. We ate a few times in the evening at the restaurant which is a set daily menu of 3 courses and we also did the on-site wine tasting which I would highly recommend. The other thing we did was order the picnic one evening which was lovely, all freshly prepared and delivered in picnic baskets to our room. Perfect romantic and intimate couples holiday!

We had a fabulous time and only wish that we could have stayed longer. Besides a tasty breakfast, we enjoyed a delicious supper that included vegetables produced on the property. The staff very kindly prepared both meals gluten free, which we so appreciated. The old-style decor of the guest house is charming and interesting. Our evening walk through the terraced fields of the property caught gorgeous views of the Douro valley as well as the setting sun. The staff of the guest house were welcoming, friendly and attentive.

Amazing place with a wonderful view. Located among spectacular hills and vineyards. Beautiful, well-kept hotel area. Great accommodation, airy, good equipped, stylish and cozy. The staff was very kind and hospitable. Delicious breakfast with fresh homemade pastry. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the large house. It is huge, spacious, comfortable and pleasant. A decorated tree was waiting for us at the entrance. The fire was burning in the fireplace and the atmosphere was wonderful. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi and the spaces outside, despite the cold. We also liked that the kitchen is equipped with lots and lots of dishes, cookware, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, etc. Very comfortable! But there are no basic essentials such as olive oil, salt, sugar, etc. So stock up in advance!

Vila Marim Country Houses was an excellent place to stay at while in the Douro Valley The bedrooms were very comfortable and had great views over the vineyards. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly.
