Trin is an amazing host, he was so helpful and kind. Thanks to his advice we could easily explore the surroundings and the mountains! I was apprehensive when reading some of the views but it turns out I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The room was larger than I expected and very clean. I don’t mind walking so wasn’t worried about the 30 minute walk into Chiang Rai centre. I did however, hire a scooter for my stay as I wanted to visit other places. The garden area I walked through to get to my ground floor apartment was very pleasant and well tended to on a daily basis with benches all around if you wished to sit and enjoy the outside. I also noticed a small play area for younger children which consisted of plastic playground slides etc. I had a small, private outdoor area so I could sit outside of my room which looked out to the rear of the property. The rear view wasn’t as nice as the front but the water tanks and things need to go somewhere on the property but I didn’t find them offensive. I appreciate you cannot please everyone but the comment about mosquitoes - really? You are in a tropical country so they are expected. The hotel had gone to the trouble of putting large opening windows, front and back for fresh air if you didn’t want the ceiling fan (which was great incidentally) or air conditioning. They also had a heavy duty mosquito screen so no insects could get in when opened. The breakfast consisted of eggs cooked three ways and frankfurters but salad was available buffet style. Toast, coffee, orange juice and water were available and refilled if you wanted. The staff were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I extended my stay as I had problems with flights but I certainly didn’t think about going elsewhere.
