This has to be the best place to stay in the entire city. For one thing, its one of the few original wooden hotels to survive the fires. Most other places are modern constructions, but here you're staying in the real deal. The hotel is also located just on the edge of the old town, which is a real scrum. Its great to be close to the action but able to remove yourself from it. And then there's the hosts, who are *amazing*. So kind, generous, helpful. Excellent English. They plied me with snacks, helped me do laundry, and gave me lots of ideas and advice. The hot water was very hot, the internet was fast, the bed was comfortable. If you're looking for an friendly place to stay that isn't a gigantic chain-style hotel, this is the spot for you.

The landlord couple are very warm-hearted and keep offering all kinds of help. It feels like staying at a friend's home. Every morning, the breakfast is made with freshly bought ingredients, including local delicious rice noodles and many other choices, as well as various seasonal fruits. The details of the room are also very comfortable. We had an unforgettable three days in Dali and we are definitely coming back😁

He consistently went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Words cannot fully capture the impact he had on us. To understand, you simply need to meet him yourself—your life will be enriched for the better. He is a person who embodies love, peace, and utmost professionalism. I’ve promised to return next September and April, as this place will be our family's sanctuary to rejuvenate and find harmony. We recommend this hotel 100%. Our experience in Dali would not have been the same without the owner and his incredible establishment.

This is a great place for those who cook when traveling, as the supermarket is essentially downstairs, just outside of the gates of the housing complex. The unit includes two washing machines and a place to hang clothes to dry. It has both a traditional squat toilet and a western-style toilet. It is on the sixth floor of an elevator building with two elevators. The view is onto the surrounding buildings of the area and the courtyard. As this is in Kunming, Yunnan, it is usually at a comfortable temperature, at least when I stayed throughout the month of August (which was also rainy at times). I was able to arrange transportation to and from Kunming airport with the host of the property, who oriented me at the place and gave me the key fob for the building. All in all, a seamless experience.
