One thing that's challenging to find in Colombia is a quiet place to stay and at Azulejo, it was super quiet. It might be a little bit inconvenient that it isn't located a little closer to town, but I'll take the longer walk (approx 20 mins to the plaza principal) in exchange for the peace and quiet any day. The people who ran things were super nice. The breakfast was great and served at the exact time requested and for all these reasons and more, I ended up staying several extra days there . Lots of hot water for the shower and it was a bonus that they had a full kitchen plus washer/dryer to use for guests. The area is remote and absolutely stunning. The whole experience including the boat ride to the cabin will be guaranteed something you will talk about for a very long time. The cabin is beautiful, new and equipped with everything you need. We very much enjoyed the kayak and paddle board and jacuzzi! They supplied wood for a fire on the deck in the evening. They even accommodated me when I asked if someone could deliver me beer! I cannot say enough good things. We were 3 adults and 2 young children (7 and 11) from Canada.
