We only stayed one night and unfortunately it was raining, however the property was lovely, we booked massages, and the room was warm and comfortable. The staff at Ara Garden Inn deserve special mention, they were so so kind and helpful throughout our stay!

Eddy, the host has a lot of knowledge he can share because he grew up there. The room has views over the horce racing track. It’s very clean and comfortable.

The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

The location is a bit far if you consider day trips to Labuan bajo and day trips to Komodo Island but totally worth it! I wished to stay one more day just to enjoy our villa and the surrounding village Mbeliling!

I loved that Erlin provided out of this world service. She was so prompt and available always! She helped us with transportation and guidance on what to do as far of tours. She made sure we were safe and had everything we needed in the villa. She is a great human being and she's also very organized and reliable. Again, she went beyond anything I would have ever expected. Highly recommend.

Ajudou a organizar um jantar de aniversário surpresa e superaram todas as expetativas. Estava tudo delicioso e foi mágico. O local tem uma vista magnífica, os quartos são super confortáveis e limpos, muita privacidade e tranquilidade. Apenas 2 edificios com 2 quartos cada, entre cada 2 quartos há uma sala de estar com cozinha. É possivel fazer as refeições neste espaço ou no restaurante (comida excelente). Todos os quartos com vista para o mar e nascer do sol soberbo, bastou abrir a janela e nem foi necessário sair da cama para assistir a um verdadeiro espectáculo da natureza. É possível descer umas escadas com acesso exclusivo à praia. A melhor estadia em Sumba e das melhores estadias na Indonésia.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay with Laurence in his beautiful home. The views were amazing! Laurence cooked such a delicious dinner and we had a lovely evening of story telling and getting travel tips around Flores. Wish we would have stayed longer!

We had an amazing time staying with Laurent. The house is beautiful and very well decorated, with an incredible open view across the jungle especially the amazing sunsets. We could wake up to the sound of the birds singing in the morning and it's the perfect place to just rest and read in the middle of nature. Laurent made us some lovely food for lunch and dinner including an incredible fish soup and the pancakes for breakfast were exceptional! Nothing to complain about and we would definitely come back again. He said they will have WiFi later this year, but actually it's the perfect place to digital detox....just make sure you bring some books! He can arrange day trips to waterfalls etc., but we chose to just relax at the house. There are lots of comfy places to sit or lie around. Recommend to use Laurent's driver for transfer as the approach road is a little tricky but no issue for his driver (there are plans to pave the road ).
