Room - very nicely set and large, comfortable bed. Breakfast - very plentiful, lovely home-cooked meal.

We stayed at Royal Mountain Edge from September 13th to 14th, booking a double room. Our experience was truly remarkable. During our short stay, we joined the Kotagaga Waterfall hike, took part in the Garden-to-Kitchen experience, relaxed by the beautiful infinity pool, enjoyed a cozy BBQ night, and ended with a delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. The accommodation is comfortable, though quite basic — but honestly, that’s all you need to connect with the beauty of nature. All essential facilities are available: Wi-Fi, electricity, and hot water. The simplicity of the stay only makes the surrounding mountains feel even more special. If you’re looking for a place where you can slow down, breathe fresh air, and be close to nature, this is the perfect escape. Footnote: Remember to bring cash for your extra expenses.

What truly made our stay unforgettable was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their genuine care and dedication to providing a top-notch experience reflected true Sri Lankan hospitality. Additionally, the view from the place was incredibly interesting. We were treated to vistas of mountains, paddy fields, and pristine natural environments. It truly felt like a natural and green heaven, offering a serene and calming atmosphere. Staying here felt like a form of meditation, enhancing the relaxation and rejuvenation of our vacation. Overall, our stay at A Frame Riverston was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat amidst stunning natural beauty.

It's a superb place. Really calming and beautiful environment. It was built in a totally different concept than other accommodations I stayed. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Has all the facilities tv,wifi kitchen and etc. I mostly like the concept and beautiful environment it was build on. And uncle and aunty who look after the place are really nice and i have great respect for their superb hospitality. They treated us like family unlike guests.

Most of all the wonderful staff including Terence, attentive manager and Jakati, the chef who prepared delicious meals every day and presented it with a wide cheerful smile. Our stay at this charming cottage nestled deep in the Knuckles jungle was nothing short of magical. The peaceful setting, surrounded by lush greenery, offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A beautiful mountain river, Nikal Oya, runs along the edge of the property—its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters are ideal for a refreshing dip. We learned from the friendly owner that this is the highest altitude in the river suitable for bathing, which made the experience even more special. The hospitality was exceptional. The caretaker, Diviya, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She personally guided us to a hidden mountain temple and the stunning Bambarakiri Ella waterfall, leading us through picturesque paddy fields along the way. Riverston Peak is just 9 km from the cottage, and watching the sunset from the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and explore some of Sri Lanka’s lesser-known natural wonders, this is the place for you. Public transport is also available nearby, which is a bonus for travelers without a car. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Riverston area!
