The location is not far from the downtown area but far enough to have a relaxing stay. You can easily walk to small Adams Peak and the 9 arch bridge from there. The host was a wonderful gentleman who made sure my stay was an excellent one and provided me with useful information during my stay. He even arranged my transfer to Trincomalee which I appreciated. The room itself was very comfortable with a fan that kept the room at a nice temperature as the nights are cool.Nice bed and good hot water pressure.

It is not in downtown Ella but you get the view, so it's a question of taste. Breakfast was served on the porch and was delicious. The owner was great and helped us organize our pickup to and from the cottage as well as a driver to go to Yala.

While the town was very busy and happening, we felt that we could getaway from it all when we were back at the Saffron Eco Cottage. Breakfast was tasty and homemade. Thoroughly enjoyed our host Sapu's hospitality and he was very helpful in organizing transport into town and back again.
