I’ve been in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and stayed at more than a dozen places. This one I will never forget. When I first saw the ad, I thought it looked too good to be true. But since there was a special price for the opening, I thought I’d give it a try. I could not be happier with the choice. I've had an unforgettable experience. This place is absolutely fantastic! To help future guests, I will try to provide as much detail as I can in BOTH columns: The cottage only opened in February 2024, so everything is brand new. Unlike in other places, you actually get what you see in the pictures. Everything about this place is very well thought-through and built in a way such as to allow for a most pleasant stay: The cottage is located very quietly in the middle of nature but still close enough to town (5 min by tuktuk). It has an outdoor terrace with two regular and one swing chair offering a lovely view over the garden. The bedroom is beautifully designed and very spacious. The wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to store luggage openly and easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable and the mattrasses have standard European/US length (I mention this because sometimes in Sri Lanka, the mattrasses are shorter so that your feet stick out at the end). The A/C is very powerful and there are no smells (which sometimes happens with older models). It cools down the entire room very evenly. There are multiple electrical outlets which all types of sockets (even USB slots). There are light switches for every single lamp which allows you to set the lighting in just the way you prefer. Worth mentioning here too is the warm temperature of the light. The WiFi is reliable and sufficiently strong for browsing, streaming, and video calls.

The staff was very helpful with everything, arranging our tour, and answering all of our questions prior to our trip. The room was very clean and modern, and the bathroom was also spotless and beautiful

The owners were friendly and very helpful, organizing two great safaris for us. The guide was excellent, adapting the safari to our interests, whilst enabling us to see a wide range of wildlife. The home cooked breakfast and evening buffet were delicious and provided a real taste of Sri Lankan food. The resort is in a great location for visiting the national park and provided real value for money.

Hasthi Safari Cottage situa-se em Udawalawe, a 16 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e dispõe de acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito, um terraço e um restaurante. Dasoon is the best. He took care of my family as if we were his family. He arranged a great safari and coordinated taxis and logisics. The food we ate there was the best we had in Sri Lanka.

Silent River Cottage situa-se em Udawalawe, a 16 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e dispõe de acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito, um restaurante e comodidades de desportos... The place is run by Amila and his wife. They’re lovely family that will make you feel welcomed and help organizing whatever you may need. Room was clean and dry, it had well working air condition, fridge and hair dryer! Bathrooms were nice and clean too. Good WiFi connection. We bought safari organized by them. It was a bit more expensive to what you can find on the internet but definitely worth it. It included all entrance and car fees + breakfast and lunch. The driver was very nice, not rushing anywhere. And it lasted over 6 hours (in comparison to regular 4h ones). We definitely recommend.

The Castle Safari Cottage apresenta uma piscina exterior, jardim, um terraço e bar em Udawalawe. The cottage is nice and the bed is big & comfortable. Great eco friendly safari tour provided by the host with a fair price!

The Wild Side Cottage localiza-se em Udawalawe, a cerca de 34 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e disponibiliza acomodações com ar condicionado. Great value! They keep the shared facilities very clean and the beds were comfortable. Hot water was a plus and the WiFi worked well. arranged a next day early morning Safari as well. Don’t forget to have their scrumptious breakfast.all worked perfectly.

Green Paradise Cottage Udawalawa localiza-se em Udawalawe, a 17 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e fornece acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito, um salão partilhado e um... We will forever cherish the memories we made at the green paradise cottage! The whole family was so caring and welcoming. They truly represent Sri Lankan hospitality. Our sons played together, laughed, ran, swam in the river although they didn’t speak the same language. They took turns offering to hold our baby to allow us to eat or shower or just get ready. We immediately felt at home. The room was spacious, a crib was provided for our baby, there was an AC and mosquito nets. The garden is so lush and peaceful. The food was delicious (we had both breakfast and dinner here) The safari they organized for us was incredible. The cottage is about 20 min away from the park entry. We saw so many elephants and our guide Pasindu was knowledgeable, drove safely, helped us set up both our kids with their car seats in the jeep, and was genuinely nice. We are so happy we chose to come here instead of way too popular Yala. There weren’t many jeeps and everyone was respectful of the animals, something that was very important to us. We highly recommend staying here and hope we get to one day revisit Sandaru, Yenul and their family ❤️ Thank you for everything Laura and Joseph

Jungle Edge Cottage encontra-se em Udawalawe e tem um jardim, terraço, restaurante e acesso Wi-Fi gratuito em toda a propriedade. It was my best stay in Sri Lanka! Best location, best food, best staff, clean and beautiful room! They kindly found a safari for me who was alone with discounts. I had no problem during my stay there.

Fornecendo vista do rio em Udawalawe, River paradise safari house with cooking class fornece acomodações, um jardim, um terraço e um restaurante. Prashan is the perfect host, he made our stay really special. He organized a safari for us which was awesome - he prepared a breakfast for us that we took to the national park :) every evening, we cooked together and Prashan showed us around in his garden. All the ingredients we had for dinner come from his garden and he really made an effort to create a cozy atmosphere. We had dinner close to a fire pit and breakfast close to the river. Prashan is committed to support his community and teaches young children to speak English. We learned a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine from him and had eight different curries in two nights! We even cooked Kottu Roti together. The homestay is really close to Udawalawe national park, we would always come back and can recommend Prashan to everyone who wants to have a memorable stay in their journey 🐘🫶🏻
