Our host Jean-Louis and his team were very attentive and served up tasty seafood (and more) as well as the best Caipirinhas and coldest beers we had on our trip. On request, crab was prepared in two ways (Madagascar Sauce, Spicy Wok Butter) for our first night's meal and it was phenomenal and very reasonably priced. The property has a variety of accommodation options ranging from pre-erected tents to a room with an en-suite bathroom and wall-mounted room fan, where we stayed. The shower water was hot and the water pressure strong unlike many other establishments we stayed at on the Nosys (islands). The small swimming pool with ample tree shade offered respite from the afternoon heat and a refreshing way to start the day. As a bonus, there are two well-behaved and friendly house dogs, Gaston and Charlie. Sunsets were stunning since Corto Novo faces due west. No light pollution meant spectacular star-gazing too. You'd think that being so close to the mangroves would result in more mosquitoes, but they were few and far between. Affordable, comfortable and with all the essentials you need, you won't be disappointed with a stay at Corto Novo. We'll be back.
