I can highly recommend it — it's probably one of the best stays in this price range in all of Kathmandu.

I love the family atmosphere here. The family is very friendly and hospitable. They have received guests from many different countries and truly know how to make you feel at home. Also as a vegetarian, it’s amazing to have fresh vegetables from their own farm daily—farm to table. It’s simple here but you can get all the basics you need. Hot water, Wi-Fi, healthy food, and the feeling of home away from home :)

Welcome to Paradise, Joy Source Resort with breath taking views of the Pharping village and snow - capped Himalayas from Mt.Everest to Mt.Ganesh. Joy Source Resort is a unique place to stay not far from Kathmandu, where I ate fresh home-grown food, stayed in a big, comfortable room and enjoyed a beautiful scenery that surrounded me. It is the people who makes the place, though. They are kind and welcoming and make the place even more special. The school that is funded by the community project is incredible and is an example of what hard work and good ideas can create. I will always remember my stay and hope to return some day.

The view is definitely the best part. Waking up to see the Kathmandu Valley and the mountains in the distance is something else. They've got this nice garden where you can chill with your morning coffee or just take a walk and relax. The food there was great, too. It’s a mix of local dishes and some international stuff, all made with fresh ingredients. Eating there feels like having a meal with family, but with an awesome view. If you’re into hiking or just want to explore the area, the cottage is in a great spot. The staff can point you in the right direction for some cool walks in the national park. Overall, Shivapuri Heights Cottage is a great place if you’re looking for a laid-back spot with nice views and good vibes. It’s like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have an amazing house in the mountains.
